Ole Miss made the cut for Ishmael Sopsher.. Dude is a five-star From Amite, La. #1 DT in the 2019 Class.
Top Seven:
Alabama
Florida State
LSU
Ole Miss
Oregon
Texas
Texas A&M
Not sure if we are at the top but it’s nice we are on his final radar. I’m glad they are making an effort to attract the elite national kids like the previous staff did. The carry over from the freeze era is the national brand recognition. At least we still have that going for us.

Not getting my hopes up with this one.

I could’ve sworn we weren’t getting top talent from in stateand we weren’t even on the radar of the elite national kids

Hey look we got another 4* in-state WR
Posted on 7/31/18 at 5:12 pm to TOFTR
I have to hand it to him, Matt Luke is doing well with recruiting given our circumstances. Two 4* WRs in two days who are both 247 Top 300 players.
With our luck there will be news breaking in a year that we got caught cheating again.

I mean landing the top two wide receivers in state in a year when you are possibly losing your top 3 wide outs is huge and how you need to replenish talent at key positions. Impressive work if you can hold onto them.

Well it's starting to heat up on the recruiting trail.
I like the way the staff is getting commitments from so many players and still working to get "in" on the bigger gets.
Most top players will wait late to commit no matter what, some will wait until signing day. In the past it seems as though under Freeze the staff neglected to have that 2nd choice committed and when the first choice didn't commit they were left scrambling to fill the void.
I think the staff is doing well. They appear to be working hard to get "sure bets" locked in, while pursuing the longer shots.
Two 4 star in state NWOs and a hometown MLB that looked very impressive in his video from the Dallas camp.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens when the big boys come after these guys whether or not they are really committed to Ole Miss.
Many of these players offer sheet will continue to grow. And the big boys will come looking to fill their needs by taking players that will wait 3 years to get any significant starts. Bama has done that since the 60's and continues to do so now. It's not as much as they want that player to make them better, they know taking that in state recruit will weaken their competition.
A solid season with a highly competitive product on the field, will help in locking down some top recruits at the end of the cycle.

If it wasnt JCR then it was a RIP of the one he did years ago with Freeze.

Three 4*s in less than 48 hours is good, right?

Yeah, but they aren’t all 5 Stars, we’ve been working on the student union for 3 years now and I noticed some of the tulips were dying at the Jackson Ave entrance the other day. So it’s still all Matt Luke’s fault.

Good on Matt Luke, I'll be happier when a) the papers are actually signed and b) it's a highly rated defensive recruit. However, this is a good trend and it will be great to see it continue.

I think This staff’s strategy of getting the 3 Stars players to commit early will pay off. If we swing and miss on the bigger recruits this cycle we aren’t f**ked like we were with Freeze’s badass or bust mentality. When we got the 4 and 5 Stars it was great.. when we missed, we were forced to scramble and offer some guys that we probably really didn’t want. At least the 3 Star guys we have are the ones our staff actually wants and thinks they can work with.

We are going back to the way Nutt did things. I like it but when you cut players super late that can negatively impact your image in future recruiting cycles
Posted on 8/1/18 at 10:21 am to Henry Jones Jr
Yeah I agree it does have some negative consequences but I think a lot of programs do it that way, so hopefully it’s done enough to where people understand. I guess it would be a good problem because it means we are landing some 4-5 Star guys
