I would hope he didn’t. I frequently use land to go shooting and could use it to hunt if I so choose. The fact that this is considered a recruiting benefit is laughable at best.

Not if you're extending an offer to a recruit to come hunting at some high end fenced property free of charge.

From my understanding it wasn’t some exclusive lodge like setting with a wide variety of game that is available to hunt. Based upon the dollar amount attributed to the benefit it was just land.

Far more insight than me. I have no idea of the particulars. I was just stating that depending on the situation it could be a benefit that would otherwise not be an option for the recruit. The you describe it just makes it all the more sad

If I recall rightly it was just land that the individual offered Gholston to go hunt on.

Every bit of land in the 5 counties are all owned by Ole Miss alumni.
We fricked - can't ever let a kid go hunting.

Why not offer it to all athletes as an educational experience?
Works for Michigan when they pack up the entire football team and head to Paris.
Do all athletes at the University of Michigan get to take an educational trip every summer? If not it would appear it to be impermissible by rule. If not offered to everyone.

Olemissfan26 is officially back. Hopefully we can use this momentum to steal some recruits

I sure as hell hope a kid from the same county would commit to us

Tell that to Brandon Turnage, the Bama commit who also plays at Lafayette. Having a teammate commit to the Rebs can't hurt the chances of flipping him.
Jeffries will also graduate in December and plans to enroll early. Could be a very sneaky pick-up in that he has very limited exposure and film, but drew a lot of attention during camps at Bama and Texas.

100% agree. Especially when Bama is loaded at his position and he could play immediately in Oxford. We will lose at least 3 starters in the secondary after this year in Webster, Woods & Moore.
Same goes for Nakobe Dean. UGA is thought to have the lead, but they have 4 LBs committed and had 5 in last year's class.

Looks like we just flipped the number #1 wide receiver in state. Would be a big pickup if we could hold onto him with how much playing time is set to open at that position after this year.

He's also a baseball prospect from what I understand. Could be a very huge get. We clearly have a solid track record of putting Mississippi made WRs in the NFL

Very doubtful he plays baseball at the college level. Prototypical slot WR with tons of speed though. May finally have a returner.

Some of the ole miss beat writers are suggesting that we should expect a few more flips/commitments this week.
Not that any movement this early matters. I think it will still take 7 or 8 wins plus being competitive in the losses to get some of the bigger in state names to commit.
