Well, we're running out of munitions againat a military that is a fraction of the strength of WWII Germany after only a few months.

This is disturbing. If we've spent as much as we have militarily and we're facing a munitions shortage over a few months of off and on conflict against a backwater dumpster of a country like Iran, then we're absolutely screwed against a country like China.
Heads should seriously roll and every cent should be.audited. I'm talking prosecutions, this is essentially embezzlement that endangers national security. I never want to hear another argument about our military prowess based on spending ever again.

Mexico? A reliable ally? They're almost completely responsible for our illegal immigration and drug-related issues. When in recent history has Japan or South Korea fought alongside the US?

Honestly, once you solve the cost disparity issue between bomb laden low-cost drones and the defense mechanisms to counter them then the strait issue becomes easier to solve. Using multi-million dollar missiles to counter drones dispatched by the hundreds at a fraction of the price isn't sustainable. Honestly, countering missile strikes on vessels are probably easier as you can pre-emptively knock out production and launch sites and they're much more expensive to produce.

The fact that we spend so much money on our military but piss down our legs when a third world backwater country threatens to shut down a water way should be disquieting.

They've actually pivoted from Great White to just White shark. I kid you not. For "scientific reasons".
Basically Mississippi went from "No child left behind" to "We'll retain until they can pass the test." They haven't gotten more effective at teaching literacy as much as they no longer push along students that would endanger their reading test scores.
What you'll see if you dig past the PR statistics is a larger percentage of older students taking the 3rd-4th grade reading test than intended.

I'm so grateful that Iran has allowed our gas prices to drop. Maybe if Trump fellates them harder, they'll drop it below $50.
