I didn't want Longo here next year but I am still so conflicted by his departure... I fear the damage that might be inflicted if we have both a competent offensive and defensive coordinator. We mustn't do anything to help save Luke's job.

It doesn’t seem like Longo would have been Mack Browns type of coach? Just seems like a bad fit.

It doesn’t. But Mack has the balls and the experience to tell Longo how to do his job when it stops working in the 2nd quarter. He can show him about this thing in football called 2nd half adjustments.

Longo learning about second half adjustments:

Same here. I am afraid we will be just above shite-tastic instead of directly shite-tastic and that the powers that be will be pleased with the "progress."

We’re going to suck balls next year, and maybe the year after that, so it likely won’t much matter who’s hired. At the absolute latest, one has to think we have new errythang by 2020, but we can’t do shite until we have a new chancellor who’s hired a new AD, etc.

Their new DC (a good hire by the way) is the guy from Army so he will probably be really used to having his D run back on the field after a two minute break with no points.

We are going to be bad next year, and also in 2020.

I do not understand hiring Mac. I’m not mad about it, but it’s stupid. The fanbase is begging for a new HC, yet our tone deaf AD is going his own merry way.

Look at it this way. I’ve seen this opinion on this board before. The football program is a car. The engine is going to be completely shot in 10,000 miles. However, we are spending our money on discount tires rather than fixing the component that will make the car go. It’s fricking moronic.

We'll let Matt Luke go and then promote Mo Harris to head coach for a salary of [ name your number ] for infinity years, courtesy of Sexton.

Hearing that Harris and Jones are gone. Nix, Roach, and Sumrall will stay. None of that is confirmed, those are just the rumblings I’ve heard.

No sure word on Werner. He’s definitely a candidate though.

The pathetic part in all of this was that we didn't even fire Longo. He left for greener pastures and he won't even be missed because no one wanted him here anyway except Luke and the rest of the check writers.

That guy should have been packing up his office the same day as McGriff and putting his house on the market. Nope, we're holding on this steal of an OC.

Has anyone informed Matt Luke that he needs to hire an OC yet? Just wondering because he seems to miss these things.

Cut him some slack, he's currently chewing gum. When he's done he will hire an OC. Do you expect him to do both at the same time??

Bro you aren't hearing anything. You just read Rivals board.

I'm sure I get a onslaught of down arrows but if Luke is able to hire Briles or a top OC along with Mac and can get Dean I think he would have done about as well as anyone could imagine this off-season.

Oh and getting rid of Harris. God Freeze was a idiot. Harris should have been fired years ago. The guy has literally done nothing.

I don't always agree with your stances but I thought the same thing about this. I will not pull against Ole Miss to get a coach fired! Sorry but I just cannot do that.

I saw the GOB network take over after Vaught retired and screw everything up! You kids don't remember but we were good for 15 years, most years really really good! Then this, not a couple of good seasons with freeze! Which do you think is harder to handle? Do I think Luke is the answer? Probably not but he is here now and if we get a good OC and Dean then that's not bad. kudos where kudos are deserved.

That's better than anyone imagined. That's a damn Christmas miracle.

I'll give him props if he pulls that off. I would be impressed
