Clearly this is a problem but there is a difference between toward the WMA and in the WMA. Were they just East from marina accross the MRGO? There is marsh over there that is not WMA

It just seems a little egregious seeing a fleet with 4-6 customers each going into the wma at sunset

I am not the biggest fan of it. However, is the end result any different in terms of harvest than the fleet of charter boats leaving the dock full of anglers and shrimp?

How long do you let it soak?

Rule 1 - boil till they float and soak till they sink. 30-45min.

Do you add anything to the boil to make them easier to peel - like butter, for instance?

No. Dont add butter.

Do you add ice to the water while they’re soaking to prevent overcooking?

No. They wont overcook if you stick to rule one

3rd world shithole

Every state in the SEC has some 3rd world shithole pockets.

Lawsuits are a loss leader when it comes to the industry, and as long as the culture of billboard lawyers reigns supreme in sportsman's paradise, rates will never decrease.

Your use of “loss leader” is way off. Insurers have to substantially increase premium to account for the higher percentage and likelihood of litigation on any vehicular collision. Whenever suit is filed it’s a lose/lose proposition for the insurance carrier. Carrier has to either pay legal fees and/or settlement in every litigation. Expenses are incurred regardless of fault or liability.

There needs to be some threshold to file a suit and a loser pays system.

The constant inflamed state of everyone's butthole about trail lawyers and billboards make the masses more malleable to outrageous rate increases. "Well, they didnt want to have increase rates 60% this year but those pesky trial lawyers....."

The state demands your vehicle is insured and at least to certain minimal amounts. You can’t simply elect to not carry ins. (Some do but it is “illegal”)

Boat Trailer Bunk Covering

Posted by Saskwatch on 4/22/25 at 11:14 am
Looking at replacing the carpet on my trailer bunks as they are worn thin (but not ripped) on the inside top edges. Has anyone used gatorbak bunk covers or surfix glide sticks instead of re-carpeting? I dont want any kind of product that will damage the gelcoat or fiberglass but would be open to different material other than carpet if it helps load/unload boat.
Have a 7yo and a 4yo. They both got Ugly Stick 5’10” spinning rods and Okuma reels for Christmas.

Food for thought. A good reel will last 10yrs. A shitty reel won’t last one.

Someone posted a good sale on the Daiwa Coastal recently.

*this was a general post and not a direct response to the poster above me. Tatula is a fine reel.
