Honestly dead shrimp under a cork for reds is easier fishing for kids than speck fishing where your casting alot. I bring my 5 yr old along when fishing bait. He isnt the best caster but loves reeling anything in.

My favorite is the term “disabled”

Doesnt mean what it used to. People with high blood pressure or diabetes are qualified “disabled” now

Maybe look over by Bayou Caddy. Will be cheaper and more of a camp. Can fish off the dock and access some good marsh with a small skiff type boat if you want to add in near future. Know quite a few who fish that area out of campagnas
