re: Cowherd on why he’d take Tua over Burrow

He may not be wrong. But his opinion is greatly discredited because he's Colin Cowherd, a noted troll and talker who says things just to get attention.
If an NFL team believes this, I can understand it, too.
But if I were an NFL team, I'd be wary of that hip giving out again. That's not a common injury, and Tua has already proven he's more fragile than Burrow.

Kiss of death for Tua. Cowherd couldn't be more wrong on everything he predicts. He and Skip Bayless are absolute curses.

I've been saying it the whole time. Tua was elite as a freshman. Great qb with bad injury luck. Burrow had one great year.
Tua's ankles are held together with baling wire and can feel a storm coming in his hip.

77 in total, the only meaningful snaps he took were against Georgia where he went 14/24, 166 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 pick.
Elite indeed.

How is that a hot take? So Alabama doesn't have a good online. Ask yourself, did Tua struggle when pressured? Against Georgia in the SEC Championship game again against Clemson in the Natty. If you can get Tua out off his spot then you can affect him. Burrow got better when blitzed and pressured. His completion percentage went up when pressured. Its a fact.

perhaps he's basing it in part due to the fact that in spite of the fact Tua played injured the last couple of years, he is the all time ncaa record holder in pass efficiency

It really doesn't matter who goes first, it matters who performs better once they get there.
We shall see in the years to come.

Who says?
I do. Tua just looks smoother, with longer strides, while Burrow runs more like a fullback. Tua does seem like he'd be easier to tackle.

Not sure that describes Brees correctly
I read it more as moving in the pocket and avoiding the rush, not so much picking up yards downfield. As far as running downfield goes, I don't think Brees has anything on Tua or Burrow.

Cowherd is an idiot. Burrow was the much better QB even before Tua suffered a potential career-ending injury.

Brees had a higher YPA than both in college.
Best season he ran for 521 yards to Tua's 190 and Joe's 399

Meh, frick that cheating cheater.
If Brees' signature is reading defenses, timing and fitting the ball through tight windows, that's Burrow, not Tua.
