He makes a solid point.

I've been saying it the whole time. Tua was elite as a freshman. Great qb with bad injury luck. Burrow had one great year.

Lets just leave out the fact that Burrow is only two years older, has the size you want from an NFL quarterback, and threw less interceptions and more touchdowns per pass attempt than Tua.

Plus he didnt destroy his body in college and have surgery on both ankles that no one really knows the long term ramifications of.

That says nothing about him being injury prone going forward.

To each his own though.

Cowherd has his opinion. I like Tua but they bring different skills sets in my opinion. Burrow thrived when pressured this year. His completion percentage actually went up when pressured. Tua benefited from a clean pocket the majority of his career at Alabama. Not his fault Alabama had a good line. To evaluate Tua you got to look at the latter portion of the 2018 season when he started to play stronger defenses his completion percentage did go down somewhat. That shouldn't put him down though because he was injuried during that time in 2018 as well. Tua has been hurt a lot. Burrow on the other had an is a lot more durable. Remember during the UCF game he took a earhole shot and was down for like 5 minutes. Most QB's would have called it a day. He came back and threw four touchdowns. You cant go wrong with either of them but Burrow is just so dang tough.

I would take Burrow over injury plagued Tua all day long.

We do know. The tightrope surgery strengthens his ankles and helps prevent further injury.

His accuracy is Drew Brees great."

I've seen Tua compared to Brees before:
quote:

Tagovailova is the most talented QB1 in the class with a game that’s eerily similar to a left-handed version of Drew Brees. Despite an injury history that could make some decision-makers pause, Tagovailova’s A-plus arm talent, athleticism and intangibles make him an intriguing option as a franchise quarterback.

But then, in the very same paragraph they say this about Burrow:
quote:

Burrow is coming off the best season by a quarterback in college football history. He is a high IQ playmaker with outstanding rhythm as a passer. He throws with superb touch, timing and anticipation. He also flashes impressive movement skills as a runner.

LINK

THAT actually describes Drew Brees. Pocket awareness, accuracy, timing, and the IQ to quickly read a defense.

Tua's a better runner (I know, I know, "But he wuz HERT!!1!") with a stronger arm than either Burrow or Brees.

The real question is, whose fingers taste the best?
