He might. You might get Quinn too. But those kinds of athletes grow on trees in La. We'll be fine. You still haven't addressed the #1, 6 & 23 prospects in YOUR state that's going to be Tigers.

It's really a shame that LSU is not even 3rd best in the west right now. All those built-in advantages and you're now middle of the pack?

...and based on that, we need a rivalry with LSU WAY MORE than LSU needs one with us.

I would replace Tennessee with Ole Miss, but otherwise, not bad.

quote:I can agree with you as well. It really depends how much stock you put into tradition. Personally, I don't think recruits will give a flying frick who won the 1958 NC 30 years from now. Tradition is something that people care about and use as a recruiting tool when they are winning, but when you are losing, people don't care about. The one team in the SEC thats even close to matching Bama's success over the course of history, is UT, and from the looks of recruiting rankings over the last 5 years, that "tradition" pitch ain't working out for them as well as people on this board would expect. That is why I put alot more emphasis on 1)recruiting base 2)competition for recruits. Luckily for Alabama, the state has some great athletes.

ETA: Oh, and frick A&M... can someone post the gif of the freak sitting on Manziel's face?

yeah bama and lsu have really knocked a big hole in Texas A&M's number 1 rated recruiting class!
LOL...Recruting rankings???? auburn had some pretty good classes the past 4 years according to "rankings" and how did that work for them?
After this year you will wish you were playing those weak teams in that shithole conference you came from.

Totally comprehended your post. Long-term is long-term.

There is no question which University Administration is demonstrating that they are most serious about football excellence. It is Texas A&M.
Brand new football only strength and conditioning center which has technology no other SEC team has. Brand new player nutrition center.
Add in a $450 million expansion and renovation of Kyle Field to be the largest stadium in the SEC.
That type of commitment gets the attention of top level recruits. It would be foolish to count the Aggies out on any recruit they want to go after.
Sumlin is proving to be a master at recruiting.

Florida, Bama, LSU, A&M and Georgia are the five schools with the best combo of fan support, facilities, money and recruiting bases. The other nine all have at least one serious deficiency in those areas.
Bama and LSU have the added luxury of essentially having no competition for their in-state talent. For instance, LSU is going to land the bet player in America this year by default.

For Christ's sake, this inflated sense of Texas is da best is fricking stupid. Those kids have been playing ball in Austin for decades, UT has managed one NC in the modern era.
The top 15 players in Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida are on par with the top 15 in Texas year in and year out.
You aggies think that since you are finally getting the kids big brother has traditionally gotten then you'll all of the sudden be a juggernaut. Every state in this region produces studs. Every one of them.
Btw congrats on the June recruiting national title

This is a like saying Texas has no in state competition. Auburn is historically a better football program than Texas A&M.
Alabama isn't great because they're the only show in town, they're great because they've always been great. Tradition never graduates

Auburn you are 0-3 vs A&M . Auburn is A&M's bitch. Apparently A&M's prior conference titles dont count - but head to heads do. So thank god for Auburn. Yall kept it within a few touchdowns with Bo though Good game.

Yep, Bo couldn't punch it in on the Aggies despite multiple attempts from the one.
Another noteworthy thing was that Auburn's defense must have been asking all game long:
Who's got the tight end?
And now Kevin Murray's son is about to come lead the Aggies!

*sigh*
Not to defend Auburn, but...
They have 3 Heisman winners (to Texas A&M's 2), 2 AP titles (to Texas A&M's 1), and has a higher all-time winning % and a MUCH better record in the post-season. Historically, they've been better.
Head-to-head is nice, but it's not going to sway anyone to your argument. That first win was in 1911... and the second was back in 1986. 1 game in the last 25 years is hardly indicative, and came at Auburn's lowest point in quite a while.
