Texas A&M, the national 3-seed, advanced to the best-of-three championship finals of the Men’s College World Series with a 6-0 victory over Florida in an all-SEC semifinal on Tuesday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.

The Aggies received excellent pitching from start to finish to silence the Gators, who had scored 15 runs only hours earlier to beat Kentucky and advance to the semis.

Lefty Justin Lamkin started and threw the first five shutout innings, giving up three hits and walking only one while striking out nine.

He was followed on the mound by Chris Cortez, but Cortez was quickly yanked in favor of Josh Stewart after throwing eight straight balls. Stewart then pitched the next two innings, giving up just one hit, walking none and striking out four.

That left the last two innings for closer Evan Aschenbeck, who walked two but did not give up a hit or a run.
