well I'm still wondering why no one can answer how this Bama dynasty has 3 BCS titles and only 2 SEC championships? hahaha

The juggernaut Tide keeps getting exposed...you just don't see this with other dynasties

hey, I think Louisville just scored again

Because we own college football, hook, line and sinker. College presidents and the NCAA bow down to us and allow us to win no matter the circumstance. You jealous LSU fans only wish you could have that power and accomplished what we have. You are the armpit of college football and BAMA is the heart.

you can have your BcS, we'll take the SEC! :pimp:

agreed
That's why an Oregon-Bama game would have been so exciting...

want the blue print to beat Bama? jump on them with an explosive pass attack...

they had to abandon the running game with Lacy

I love how LSU fans use Alabama coined phrases....it's cute

How come this Alabama dynasty has more National Championships than SEC Championships?
How would you feel if you got a haircut, but it was bad??

This board blows at times...I hope it gets better during the season

but this brings me to Notre Dame...who obviously would never play in one ever again according to your stipulations. I know playoffs are here....but you get what I'm saying.

good point

I don't think the future playoff will ever be conference champ only...ND would throw a fit

Definitely.....and I don't really care. I don't think 2 losses should prevent a team from playing for a national championship.

It won't in the future...

IMO, it won't take long for the 4 team playoff to open up to 8 teams....6 autobids, 2 at-large teams

They earned it....destroyed everyone that year..it's obvious you're an asshurt LSU fan. Do I really have to point out how much better Alabama was than LSU in 2011? I'm sorry that was your greatest team in the history of your school....but that's the way the cookie crumbles bruh...

Alabama was .500 vs. LSU

same record as LSU vs. Bama....

regardless of how "great" they are....still the only 2 loss champ in the history of the BCS.

no doubt, it was lucky that a lot of other schools lost so that LSU was still in the hunt....

Did LSU have a better argument over USC that year?

People downplay them because enormity of fortune that went into them is only exceeded by their fan's claims that these championships demonstrate all time greatness. The ratio is out of whack.

Well said...

How many schools would have beat Notre Dame last year? Texas A&M would have annihilated the Irish...

People like to downplay Alabama's championships no matter what (while ignoring the fact that other team's championships can be picked at too)

Well, that's the problem with the BCS, and the college postseason in general....you can pick at just about ALL previous National Championships...

For the BCS years, only 2005 and 1999 were really solid years with no arguments...every other year has problems.

2003 was a complete failure of the BCS, and 2004 had two undefeated teams sitting there with nothing to show....an undefeated SEC champ no less

'97 - split champs
'96 - Florida mulligan, Ohio State with nothing
'95 - no arguments here for the most part...
'94 - Nebraska champs, Penn State nothing
'93 - FSU champs, Notre Dame hanging in the wind
so on and so forth....

This. the teams that have the biggest complaint as a result of the 2011 season should be the USC's from 06-08 and hell, even Boise State through the years. USC was my eyeball champion those years to play the SEC, as they were for many others. Why not throw them up as one of the two "best" teams since that's the standard? What about Boise? They went undefeated with 1 quality win.

Back in '08, you had USC with 1 loss (PAC 10 champ), Texas with 1 loss, and an undefeated Boise State (WAC Champ) and Utah team (MWC Champ) entering the post season with no shot at the championship....so basically, you had the entire west of college football left out of the National Championship picture....

quote:

That's irrelevant to the discussion. However, LSU actually accomplished something that season, unlike 2011 Alabama. More importantly, LSU doesn't go around claiming to be the GOAT as a result of this good fortune.

LSU had a better season, beat more quality opponents, and won the SEC...Alabama looked purty strong to voters, "mor strung" than Okie State

2011 was the final nail in the coffin of the BCS...after so many years of controversy, and horrible endings to wonderful seasons, the conference commissioners caved and invited the 4 team playoff

The funny thing is, you actually complimented Bama without even meaning to by saying three national titles in four years - one of which you deem a farce - is NOT Bama's greatest run ever

The problem with Bama's run is that its extremely dependent on the BCS system, and the BCS system has been in large part, a farce....the rules seem to change at will, and Bama has befitted from this for the most part, while other schools have gotten shafted

For 2011, Bama's argument is that it was one of the two best teams...despite not winning the conference

Well, going into the post-season for 2012, how can you say that? Notre Dame certainly wasn't one of the two best teams....Alabama got a very weak opponent. And Florida was sort of shafted if you were talking about the best teams at the end of the regular season...according to voters the year before, conference championships shouldn't matter.

Are we voting who makes the BCS championship based on conference championship? best record? best resume? who looks the strongest? The BCS in general, is a bunch of crap

The coming playoff will solve a lot of arguments
