Would Bama be as good as they are if UF was their CDR?

Would they have won as many titles? I enjoy playing LSU, but lets be honest excluding recently UF has dominated LSU. I would think Bama wouldn't be as good as they are if they had to play every year. Especially since UF matches up better with Bama in their series historically rather than LSU. I would even theorize LSU winning a few more titles than what they have won if they played UT, since they beat them on the reg.

Would they be as good? Yes. Would they have as many total wins? No.

With a thread title like that, you must be an LSU fan.

I think Bama has a pretty stellar regular season record against UF.

UF has been pretty much down, they're always good for a competitive game because of the athletes that are right outside the door wanting in every yr but nothing sustained or deep enough to challenge
FTR I think boom can get their eventually just gonna take time

Alabama is 3-1 against UF in their last 4 meetings (last meeting in '11).
Alabama is 22-14 (.611) all-time against the Gators.
These two stats blow up your entire theory/thread.

Bama Winning % against:
Florida 61.1%
Lsu 64.2%
That 3.1% is absolutely a huge difference maker.

Just to clear the air...
In 1991, after 54 years and 38 games, LSU led the series by one game.
Since 2001 the series is tied at 6 games apiece.
UF only dominated LSU from 1990-2000.

Snce we are talking about titles and permanent opponents we can only be talking about post-expansion. So Bama's titles from the 1920s through the 1970s and safe from this exercise. Bama has won 4 titles in the 21 year expansion era.
In 1992 Bama played UF in the SEC title game and won. Not sure Alabama's undefeated season would have been derailed by an earlier game against UF.
You then have to flash forward through a on and off period of good seasons and horrible ones for 17 years before we talk about the 2009 NC.
During the heart of that time we lost 7 straight to UT. Replacing UT with UF for that period could only have helped. Maybe we could have taken one from UF.
2009 - Bama thrashed UF in the SEC title game. Would a game during the regular season, even a loss kept Bama out of the title game. Probably not.
2011 - 7-6 UF v. 12-1 Bama . Surely, UF would have derailed that NC, right?
2012 - 11-2 UF would have presented a much bigger challenge than 5-7 UT, but near losses to LA-Laf. and Bowling Green make it hard to believe UF QBs could hang with the Bama D.

I wish we would play Florida more. I wouldn't bitch like one fanbase does about it.

Trolling 3 teams in one post... is... is that possible??

We y'all sucked in 2011, so I can't imagine much would have changed that year, and last year, you managed to beat an LSU team whose offense was awful at times and a South Carolina team that handed over 3 turnovers in the first half (seriously 29 yards of total offense in the first half). I don't think much would have changed.
