Is this who you want as HC? OC maybe, but HC no. This was at a very good program historically, in a bad conference, and a blueblood in a mediocre conference: 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 7-6, 8-4, 9-4, 3-2 (fired mid season, team finished 8-6); 5-7, 8-5, 12-2.

Maybe as an OC? Get the frick out of here. Good lord.

It's also extremely disingenuous and honestly kind of shitty to hold Sark's job performance while he was literally an off the rails alcoholic against him. USC Sark and post-USC Sark might as well be two different people.

I think a little nuance is in order when evaluating some guys. I don't see the point in looking at Sark pre-Falcons because he obviously was battling some demons at that time that he isn't now. That makes a difference.

Lane also I feel like is a guy who became a HC so young that he really seems to have philosophically improved as a HC since his time here and with adding some age.

I don't think just looking at overall W-L record and determining that Dabo would be better than Sark makes much sense. You have to look at the trends, too.

why, because our bar is so high now that Saban is gone?

You think this fan base is going to embrace reality now that Saban is gone?

Rich Rod is already in the state and has been patiently waiting for 17 years to take the reins...just saying.

I’m more worried about the next hire. No one is going to survive the first hire after Saban

Just a ridiculous take. Some of y’all need to get a grip.

It has been the greatest slow roll in coaching history.

What’s a grip look like? You think the next guy is going to show up and just replicate success?

Clearly. I mean just look at all the success they had from 2010 to 2022. Hell, they've had ONE national title since 1970. Very easy. Just plug a one-eyed monkey in there and they'll win.

Too bad for them that Pole Assassin's monkey has two eyes.

Did Ohio State just throw up their hands and give up when Urban left?

Just hire Glenn Schumann and be done with it. He’s going to be a head coach in the next 2yrs so take a chance and see what happens.

Hell the ducks hired a young Lanning and it’s working out pretty well for them so far

In the Rece Davis interview, Saban said him and Terry are in good health.

No.

He will get a chance if this hire turns out poorly.

This isn't a ridiculous take. Half the fan base will crucifying him every time the team doesn't perform well, and good forbid we lose to a mediocre team. And the big boosters will be trying to edge their way back in after Saban shut them out. The next guy will have a lot of distractions to have to deal with. It's harsh to say no one will survive, but the first guy will have a target on his back when the standard drops. And it will. Nick Sabans don't grow on trees and aren't easy to find.
