I used to work with a dude from Vermont. He sounded exactly the same as Bol Bowen. It's almost a hint of surfer, for no apparent reason. I just thought that dude was weird. Nope. Vermont accent apparently.

Was just reading an article about the PG above, playing in a camp. Apparently Mo Williams' son was at the same camp and is a 2026 3 star prospect. I looked him up, just to find out that Mo has 7 sons. I know Mo was a natural at scoring, but 7 sons? Damn.

Then Auburn wouldn't be playing against NC State. NC State fired their coach, Auburn won the sec.

Hell, the Oats/Wade rivalry makes that more interesting than them vs Auburn.

Here's a bit of a crazy thing to read...

quote:

Spanish shooting guard Ruben Dominguez has committed to Texas A&M, he told On3.

The 6-foot-6, 22-year-old most recently played for Bilbao Basket in the Liga Endesa, the top pro basketball league in Spain.

Known for being an elite shooter, Dominguez shot 41.5% from three this season, while averging 6.6 points per game. He will bring four years of pro experience to Bucky Ball and is expected to make an immediate impact for the program.

That was somewhere on on3. It's just wild to read about schools are bringing in guys with 4 years of La Liga experience.

And Bucky must have a helluva budget. He's brought in a bunch of talent. For them to go from Buzz Ball to Bucky Ball is like doing a 540°.

frickin Wague. Started out looking like he could see the floor regularly. Probably had the best handles of the bigs. He's even brought it up the court a few times and didn't look uncomfortable.

Turned out to be garbage. As a player and a person. After like the third stomp attempt, I was done with him.

I thought it was Trilly's discord and Christian was the moderator. Or did he just decide to start his ownn discord?

Probably bit of a crapshoot with these international player. Might strike gold or might end up with a Carl Engstrom

But with 13 spots, possibly 15 upcoming, it's worth the gamble. Otherwise you're probably gonna end up with a freshman who transfers out before seeing the floor. I like strategic gambles..

That's probably the only place you'll find any talent this late in the game.

Love you, coach. But you're moving a white piece when your king is in checkmate.

Only question for me is who replaces big Nelly as the bust arse hustle guy who gets everyone pumped up with his enthusiasm, energy and effort?

My dark horse pick is Houston Mallette. While a very small sample I absolutely loved how he looked in his minutes. He has an absolutely gorgeous stroke, and he hustled to every single loose ball. Again, limited minutes. But his effort and hustle was impressive as hell.

Yeah.

Either way huge return for Alabama. Kid is gonna maul the SEC in year two.

There's gonna a lot of good PGs in the SEC next year.

Don’t know if he had a bad combine or what, but he was nearly universally a first rounder in the mocks.

He did okay but didn't complete in 5x5 scrimmages. Most mocks had him in between 27-33, and Philon supposedly wanted to be a top 20 pick. If he improves his 3%, that'll happen. Considering he shot much better than we expected last year, I think he still has plenty of room to improve.

I'm pretty sure it's a Muslim name.

Meanwhile, we've got

Now that's a name you can't help but chuckle about, even though I love him as a player.

quote:

Lol Philon lol
(who wasn’t good enough to play for Auburn btw)

What's funny about that is we slow played Philon because we had other guys higher. Both of us were scared he couldn't hit a 3. But he was much better than expected. Going to Link Academy for his senior year was a huge benefit to him.

Another Auburn player who can’t make it in the pros? Smh

I wouldn’t necessarily count out Holloway starting

I think he'll start some games. Oats likes to experiment with the roster. But the only guy I see starting every game is Philon (since he can play multiple spots) and maybe Sherrell.

but a player with the ceiling of Philon raises the bar tremendously. Its not unreasonable

I was surprised that on Torvik, we only went from #30 to #23. But apparently Torvik thinks very little of Keitenn Bristow and Noah Williamson. Torvik has them as #11 and 12 on our roster. Hell, he has Bol Bowen and Bethea as #9 and #10, so he just seems to hate our transfers.

Y'all went from gloom and doom and then a player comes back and boom were elite ?

But kidding aside, adding/getting back a legit PG is huge. Especially if Philon has a year of positive development. We could put a lot of length on the floor, to counter teams like Duke. It's even better then a transfer, because he'll have an extra year under Oats' system. You hope that his ability to make reads gets even better
