Freeze took over a bottom-tier SEC program and sent them to two straight New Years' Six bowl games. He came basically a fart away from beating Alabama in THREE straight games. This was at Ole Miss. Malik Willis just turned heads at the Senior Bowl and likely goes in the 1st round.
His offense works, he knows and develops QB, and he has the wherewithal to hire a dangerous SEC staff. The paying players shite is legal now; and I assume he's not dumb enough to do the hooker thing again.
Hugh Freeze with NIL and booster support is VERY dangerous. He was making Saban squirm while he was at Ole Miss of all places.

I'll give Freeze credit for doing a really good job identifying and signing offensive talent. One of the best at that

Imagine losing to Louisiana Monroe and Syracuse with a 1st round QB
Lane Kiffin has as many 10 win seasons in 2 years at ole miss as Hugh Freeze did total and took over AFTER the program had already been gutted from Freezes recruiting violations.
And let’s not forget he had wins taken away for 4 of his 5 seasons. I don’t care that that stuff is legal now. We are one disastrous hire away from being on the hook for 3 fired coaches.

Quick question for you. Is it too late to transfer to other SEC schools for this Spring?

Freeze and Grimes are the two names floating around early.
I sort of hate to say it but can't think of someone better than Freeze.
He did turn Malik Willis into a first round prospect... I still can't believe he completely washed out here and is now probably going first round.
Edit: On top of that you know he'd be the first guy pushing NIL. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

At this point I would assume most SEC schools have passed their institution's deadline but it varies school to school

For players? Yes. Had to be in the portal by February 1 to be able to transfer and be immediately eligible at another SEC school.
NCAA rules says they have to be in the portal by May 1 I believe, so while a player may not be able to transfer to an SEC school and play immediately they can transfer outside the conference.

I would hire an interim throw away this year and start the search for next year. Rushing or just hiring “whoever will take the job” is not a good option to me. I think if we can get some time behind us it will help. Other than that beg Matt Rhule.

Athletes in fall/winter sports like, football and basketball, would face a May 1 deadline to enter the transfer portal. Spring athletes would have a July 1 deadline in order to gain immediate eligibility. However, the council voted to allow a blanket waiver for this year only that sets the date for all athletes as July 1.

I think Lane would make the jump

What is the rule when a coach is fired for cause if in fact that is what happens. Is there a provision that they can transfer out?
Posted on 2/6/22 at 3:15 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Nobody worth a shite would work under these boosters. They are obviously getting old and feel like they are running out of time to get a leg up on their rich buddies at Bama. One inkling of a mistake and your out. This is so stupid to fire someone because they ‘mistreated’ players by not responding to a text. Oh my.

The people who say they will “boycott Auburn” and “never go to a game again” are just like the actors who said they would leave the country if Trump was elected

I like Kiffin but why is nobody mentioning Mark Stoops?

Freeze with NIL + booster support is dangerous. The talk is that he'd bring Matt Luke in as his OC.
Plus the players in place can run his offense. He would just need to focus on linemen.

Could we pretend 2011 didn't happen either? Just pick up as the defending champs?

I've always been open to it. But always got the sense that's in the minority of the fanbase.
