This isn't directed at you Meta, just the end of the thread so far.

The reason I am so relaxed on this whole thing is a little bit of hope in Golesh. I have a couple different friends that are UT boosters and both think we made a great hire and they both love him. They both say that they have gotten progressively worse since he left and think he had a lot to do with Heupel's success up there.

They both think he can do great things so until he proves otherwise, I will too.

Losing these players sucks but there is no one on a 5-7 team, that hasn't had a winning season since 2020, that isn't irreplaceable. talent be damned in this situation, we have had a losers mentality for awhile.

I’m honestly still not worried. I hate to lose Coleman’s talent but we don’t need a 2-3 million dollar receiver when we have so many holes to fill.

I’m going to wait to see what golesh puts on the field and how they play before saying much on him. Freeze put a pretty roster on the field an still dropped losing seasons.

the “camcolman8” account?

I jut saw this one. The other one is camcoleman’s actual account. He said it was Daniel’s leaving. This new coleman8 account is claiming he is leaving but I think this is a goof account.
Im amazed at how people are on the edge of their seats right now at the whims of young men. Sit back and relax and see what our new coach does. He may bring half of them back that have said they are going to the portal. some of them he may want them to walk.

His first class was not great but he has to start somewhere and I will take a year of struggling in the right direction than cruising in the wrong direction.

So if an employee of yours loved it and did a great job for you but left for a potential better opportunity, and it didn’t work out, you wouldn’t accept them back?

it all depends on the conversations. I have had the conversation that someone should leave me for better opportunities and I've had people try to burn the place down while quitting.

If a player came to me and said that he wants to stay but he feels that others are willing to pay him a lot more money and he would like the opportunity to speak to them, I would let him with the understanding that im not playing a back and forth of leverage.

Best Golf Training Aid?
What has worked best for you and was actually worth it?

There's lots of questions to be answered for what you want to do playing golf. Do you want to play scrambles for work? Do you want to be an A player in your group? Do you play now and want to trim some shots and be better? Are you a fresh beginner that has never really played and want to learn ground up? What are you trying to work on?

--The best thing you can do for every single one of these questions and the only common answer for all, work on putting and be a good putter. There are several good tools to help with that. Ping and iPod had a great tool years ago that I don't think you can find anymore that was a clip for your putter shaft and a ping app that would help you see what type of putter would be best for you and help train tempo. From there, it is just practice.

-- Learn to make contact on the range before hitting the course and having pressure on you.

-- Alignment sticks are mentioned a few posts up but they are the best training aid you can buy for the long run. You use them at the start or as a +10 handicap. Alignment is a huge chunk of peoples woes.

-- Know your role in your group. If you aren't good, be a good vibes guy. Have a solid little speaker with you and play some great music and buy a few rounds. It will keep people inviting you back to play again. Don't bitch about playing bad if you suck at golf. Too many 20 handicaps throw a tantrum about hitting a bad shot and shooting 90 when that is what a 20 handicap does on a good day.

-- as an individual playing, there is a guy on YouTube named golfsidekick. He can be cringy at times but his information is spot on and great. He isn't going to teach you to hit the ball but he teaches you to manage the course at different levels. Jason Day does a lot of great stuff about chipping and around the green and he shines at it. Breaks it down well.

Does your company give out Christmas Bonuses?

No bonuses during the year, around thanksgiving, usually a bonus but since the local office lost the president to Birmingham, they've been trying to cut bonuses.

I have gotten roughly a 5% bonus the last few years and a 5% raise each year around the Fourth.

Would be awesome for him to come to us but it could and probably will blow other things up. I guess you have to decide what you want because you are not going to be able to keep everyone.

If we get Brown and keep Ashton, would that be acceptable?

No Brown and roll the dice with Deuce and Ashton?

Is Ashton willing to sit?

Glad I dont have to make that decision

if it is a choice, you get brown, ask Ashton to find another place to play or to sit and use Deuce as your backup to bring him along for a year or two of playing time.

Brown is to buy you time to get Deuce into the system without overwhelming him.

im good with this. Two big bodied receivers that know what Golesh wants out of the gate and can help bring the others along and their quarterback that knows his system already.

We have Baylor to open and then Jac State and Southern Miss after that, so that gives an opportunity for early playing time and tuning in after Baylor.

Hell, if he has one or two offensive linemen that wants to come, we need depth and experience.
I ran out of fingers to count on, how many schools has he played at now? I think he played Alabama at 4 different schools and there were a couple others maybe lol.
I didn’t watch it, is Finley transferring back in to play for us again?

I get funds aren’t unlimited but we’ve had money for Perry for two years and he’s arguably better than any transfer from usf we bring in

Our offense has sputtered but Coleman got touches and PT didn't. There might be a reason for it.

I have no idea what players are down at USF but if we can bring in a quarterback and a receiver that knows the system that Golesh wants to run and they can handle the load of it to start, that only helps us kick start the offense. We happen to have time on our side when it comes to actual practice and getting into rhythm but we haven't been able to so far when it comes to the offseason.

in my opinion, there is no one on the offense that isn't replaceable right now as starters. Losing depth hurts and losing potential hurts but it is not irreplaceable.

Tough to get off with the overwhelming stench in the air. Imagine having to frick some of those third world women, might as well go back to the stone ages

He referenced that. He’s saying something happened at the last minute because the Golesh hire came out of nowhere. He thinks someone shut Cohen down at the last minute to prevent him from hiring Durkin and they hired Golesh instead.

I find it hard to believe that it was a last minute thing with all the promo stuff they pumped out quick after the announcement. They had promo videos, photos, emails, and other shite that went quick.

quote:

Apparently Cohen fricked up the Sumrall hire also by agreeing to let him interview Durkin and making a decision on whether to retain him. At some point it leaked out that Cohen was working on an extension for Durkin and others and it pissed Sumrall off.

I could see this actually being true. I think Durkin is being forced onto the next coach to hold recruits and that he has done well.

I think the world of Coleman in the field. I think he is a really good player. All that said, if he wants more money or he portals, let him portal. Auburn doesn’t need a standout star receiver, we need linemen and a quarterback to get the cast of receivers the ball.

Home construction has cratered.

My issue is the price they are asking to build. Around here, southeast Alabama, they wanted close to $200/sf to build a 2250 sf house on my property that I already own. 450k for a 2250 sf house on my property. That is crazy for a house that probably wouldn't appraise for it when it was done or maybe just over it and I have 6 acres and a big barn already on it.
I heard a couple salty words when it went down.

Lacey played poorly, albeit she was like a waitress there and not an online golfer. But as an ex college golfer she was pretty poor.

Sara might’ve been the most annoying one there. Saying “you’re him” to the dwarf 75 times in an afternoon made me want break my screen

Gabby is good. Not much of a personality in the videos but a good player.

The thing is, I have never heard any of them talking about how good they are and how they were pro. Paige advertises that way and with her bewbs. I assume that Lacey is a solid 8 handicap and, under the pressure, she hit a lot of good shots. She wouldn't set the world on fire but she certainly would have played to a 10 or so and that was playing the same tees as the guys.

I can see that with Sara but she seemed to be a nice girl that was a solid player. She was dwarfed (no pun intended, ok maybe a little) by Chaz playing out of his mind.

I've been following Gabby for a couple years just because she does a lot of trick shots and such and never really hid the fact that she took a long time setting stuff up. She kind of mocks herself with a lot of her reels.
