Lanier would rather Auburn not play football than have to endure another shitty season and his boy Gus get fired.

Pitiful...

LUTZ. Id rather have a season period. I just dont think it is going to happen. I just dont see anyway it could happen.

One of the biggest issues with this board. People cant read and understand what people post. Ive never said or insinuated I didnt want a season. Who would not want a season? It could be a good mental thing for this shitty as year we have all had.

Just not going to happen and you should prepare yourself for a boring fall.

You are right, with 2 months its seems highly unlikely. But given how much the SEC and other conferences are reliant on the revenue generated for football(and basketball in some regions), they are going to do anything and everything to check every single box and observe any idea to have some type of season. It will just not look anything like we have ever seen.

As time passes though, the more unlikely it is.

Its hard to look into 2021 without a 2020

I’ve yet to get a straight answer on this but will the lost season count towards Gus’s contract?

I mean... we are paying him right?

Who knows. He will get a new contract soon and it will be glorious watching some of you turn into little girls again.

Gus is to the Auburn fanbase as Cam is to the UGA fanbase. I could care less but its fun to watch.

And Auburn will be for a long time. They went in deep on his contract and no way they will pay him off to leave. It was a silly conversation last year and its the same silly conversation this year. Its going to be a while

With no season, the University will struggle for funds like every business that is being hurt by this shitty year

My opinion is just a reflexive synopsis of the white cis-heteropatriarchy.

I will find something else to do instead of watching football.

Gus's contract is not paid out by the season. It paid out by the year. As it is now his contract runs through 2024.

If Gus fails to deliver in 2020, I’ll pardon him due to the complete cancellation of the season. I’m really an open minded guy. I’m just glad after the next year the buyout will be little less of an obstacle. Not saying he will do bad but I can only handle so many 7-5 and 9-4, L to Minnesota seasons.

I have absolutely no clue what will happen to the season. What the NCAA will do. What our state will do. Or if students will actually be in classrooms. At the high school level most school systems in the state are doing a 3 option deal for students. Normal classes, online, and a combo of online and normal. I'm sure that will change next week.

2020 is a total waste only saving grace is everything will be back to normal November 4th until the midterms in 2022. Then we will see mass hysteria about something else.

Surely our wise admin placed a clause in his contract reducing his pay should unprecedented occurrences such as pandemic strike an entire season... the man is collecting coin for doing nothing...

Yeah. Our crack admin staff probably thought of everything.

Kept the Patriots from hiring Gus out from under us.

Does it really matter when we hurry to the line and do a fake read option dive? I played super Tecmo Bowl yesterday and at least had four running plays and four pass plays.

Just put the pads on and let Tank take it......OR whirlybird and throw a 55 yard incompletion. I think we got it.

Brilliant idea. No legit revenue coming in, so let's pick that time to fire someone and pay a 25 million dollar buyout

Take it to the political board pleazzse...

For 2020:

I'm thinking more about the what if's of a sick player. Say, an O'lineman. Does the rest of the line get quarantined? And where do the spare's live? And imagining if someone dies what's the liability? And if one team has an injuried star RB go down, do they just claim illness to reschedule, if that was an option?

And it's not a stretch to think about a month before rivalry-week there's bound to be a couple sick college'ettes making the rounds with the other team's star players.

Also what about a team with an off year (or no depth at all) do they push to cancel or push to play, with them having a sparse team to begin with?

If they cancel the season, there is a good chance Auburn AD is facing a budget crisis.

Pretty sure we got a lot more Gus in our future.
We just have to look forward to perfecting our message board takes on hurry up no huddle 1st down RB dives

Ok, but IF we add the Pirouetting Notre Dame Box with a fullback pass(aka, Cox Cat), we might need a few practices to get it all synchronized.
