Huh? Magwood and SWA were Top 50 players. Simon Walker a top 150 player as well. Bashir the number 1 Juco and Oporum the number 3.
Granted they are all freshmen and should be treated as such. Unless you are a top 20 player coming out of high school you probably shouldn’t be depended on to contribute much.
We lost 10 players from last season. That is very rarely going to happen. We benefited the prior season and it bit us in the arse this season.
Get a 10-11 deep of the quality players with 1 project/development athlete and give one walk on a scholly and move forward. Who stays or goes should be left up to the staff. Finish out this tournament and build a new team for next season.

I’ve said the same thing about meaningless bowl games but everyone says differently about those.

He let the players decide. The players wanted to play is what is being reported

We were in the tournament until the last few days as all prognosticators had us in. Why Texas and Oklahoma jumped us I have no idea. Why Miami (OH) is in no idea.
When I was saying we are in we were a projected 7 seed. We continued to lose and everything pointed to if we win the first game in the SEC tournament we would be in even after the terrible end of the season. We did that. We finished with the metrics to be in.
I remained under the impression that the committee would stand by their wishes of wanting tough non conference games early in the season. They did not. Why the frick is Texas in and Auburn out?
I would be ok with being out if there were 5-6 1 bid league upsets that threw off all the bubble teams. That didn’t happen. So what do we make of this committee and the disregard of the NET rankings 30-40 this year? That’s why they went to a metric model for the committee. I’m sure they have fricked over other teams before but this year I was paying attention to my team. Still every “expert” would say by the metrics Auburn should be in. But we aren’t.
And for the personal stuff frick off dipshit. I will never pull against my team, never hope they don’t get in.

Nothing on the win at Florida or blowing out Arkansas? That doesn’t count?

I’m still waiting for someone to show me how this is a true statement.
Y’all think Adolf Rupp gets this roster to the sweet 16 or something? Laughable
Bruce is also a University Ambassador.
Bruce and Charles are good to have in sports talks on the national level.

Oh well the party is over I guess. Sucks to be a bubble team.
Time to get better.
Time to get better.
So SMU and Miami (OH) play in game. So dumb. Even with our struggles we would kick both their asses

Sends the wrong message of what they want in the prior to conference play begins.

I agree with this part. Start scouting now.

Miami OH being in locks us out.
This is the one that bugs me. Completely Against Everything the committee has said the past 6-7 years. I think they are the first team to get in that hasn’t played a Quad 1 game. Hell they only played 2 Q2 games.
We in or out? Not watching
Half the tournament field will be 1 and done.
Who is he. If that is me I haven’t. All metrics should have us in.

I started out on Al.com comments lol
I remember that as well. Complete shitshow. Total Chaos
Should be in under the way the NCAA uses metrics.
I haven’t kept up with how many bid stealers have won the small conferences.
So have no idea. Last few in first few out.

Will be a totally different crop of coaches available when/if we make a change.
I still have yet to understand anyone saying want Steven fired because they watched him coach.
What did he do wrong like situational? Should he have played more players? If so, who? If he should have played fewer, how? Our offense was still mostly efficient stat wise on the season. We struggled late in games. From my viewpoint seemed we didn’t run offense or burned to much clock and got into scramble situations or hero ball.
On defense I have zero doubt that the coaches worked on the strengths and weaknesses. Just not a good defensive team. I think SWA and Freeman can be good defenders but need to get better. Overton is an ok defender but lets some of the quicker guards turn the corner on him to much but he probably is what he is. The rest on the defense is effort. From people I respect all say the same team inconsistent effort.
I’ll pass judgment after we have a different roster. This team and no point in the season seemed like a “team”. Remember it took overtime to beat Bethune Cookman in Neville to open the season.

Sweet. Keep winning and everything will take care of itself.
