I think we can all agree that a season in less than two months is very unlikely. I dont think there will be a spring season either. I look for 2020 CFB to be cancelled.

Now, with that being said, what does that do to us or for us moving into 2021? Bo Nix should still be here, what about other key players? Positions?

Any thoughts on that?

I think we have one. Might be a SEC only season though and it might not be as long

Right now, we can only have a few players together at a time. Basically footwork stuff. How are we going to get from where we are now, to full contact, sweating, spitting football in 6 weeks? Not gonna happen.

But back to the original question? What happens to the grad transfers? Fido they get to stay and play? What players that we are depending on, leave for NFL?

I know the NCAA has come out and said they need students to be on campus to have football, but not sure about SEC. I don't see any possible way that you're going to get 10, 20 and 30+ thousand students on these campuses in another month or so with the levels we're seeing.

Unfortunately it seems like this is the most likely scenario, and it'll be a complete shitshow for everyone.

This is going to kill the local Auburn economy if both season and students aren't on campus.

If the season is not going to happen, it would be a good time to go ahead and fire Gus. That gives the new HC an entire year to hire assistants and implement his new system.

Surely our wise admin placed a clause in his contract reducing his pay should unprecedented occurrences such as pandemic strike an entire season... the man is collecting coin for doing nothing...

I still think the NCAA is really looking to see how the professional sports do over the next few weeks...

...Like professional players are opting out of playing...what if we start seeing coaches and college players saying they won't play bc of family concerns or their own worries of getting the virus?

Sounds like you need to start offering Auburn board discounts on guided fishing trips

Yea i don't see ball happening this fall (or spring). Going to have a lot of grads and seniors with 1 additional year of eligibility and no schools with room to take them

This is where I was hoping this discussion would go. I could see the NCAA changing the rules for a year to allow teams to carry a few extra players, scholarships and extending eligibility. No way they can stick to the hard rule they have had in the past.

If college skipped a season, the NFL draft would be fun too Players could be evaluated by their Junior seasons and some even their sophomore seasons.

I could see a good many young kids with financial issues making the decision to go to the NFL early. Would be a shitshow

FWIW JGT said the other day the current word going around the conference is a 10 game schedule keeping the conference opponents for this season, the P5 opponent, & 1 cupcake, & move the SECCG game back a week or 2 to allow for any make up games needed due to the corona.

Except Gus still has a crazy high buyout in a bad economy time. No season just ensures he likely has at least 2 more years at AU counting this would be non season.

Just go ahead and move it to March because it's gonna take twice as long to play a season. What happens when we're in week 3 and 10 players test positive? Is the whole team quarantined for 2 weeks? Because that scenario has a very good chance of repeating itself over and over. Scheduling and re-scheduling will be a nightmare.

The season is just not going to happen. There is nothing that is going to happen in the next two months that is going to improve things enough to let these guys go at each other on a football field. Even IF the NCAA, the college and the "States" would allow it, there will be so many players sitting out because they dont want to be sick, it would be a terrible mess.

Nothing magical is going to happen to fix this in 8 weeks.

Lets talk about how next year goes
