I’ve been putting in extra hours of work getting ready for deer season. I may try some bow hunting when I would normally be in Auburn. I was also going to trade in the RV before the season started but since I doubt we have one for the month of September I’m going to hold off for now.

Just received an email from tailgateguys who run the RV/Tent tailgating at AG Heritage Center (Big red barn) and they’re wanting to know if I would be interested in having a crew set up a tailgate party at my house.

Damn. Desperation times

If they want to offer discounted prices for 2021-2022 send them my way.

PAC-12 now too.

Season still in doubt but the most likely scenario is now just a conference slate of games

And what's even more weird is the SEC as one of their options may add more conference games if the OOC games are cancelled.

That means we probably won't get Vandy added but add in FL again with our luck. :)

I still dont see how conferences can arbitrarily play only conference games, where some conferences may only have 9 conference games, others more...and then at the end if everyone doesn't play the exact same number of games then how is that fair in ranking them?

I honestly don’t think they’re planning that far in the future. There probably won’t be a playoff this year

If the season is not going to happen, it would be a good time to go ahead and fire Gus. That gives the new HC an entire year to hire assistants and implement his new system.

Ya know how many coaches in the SEC have wins over $aban's Bama teams? Great! Now do you know how many have more than one win? It's a small club with only one member, Gus Malzahn.

AU's had some bad injury luck to end a few seasons. But Gus has done OK. And now with the addition of Coach Chad Morris to run the offense while Coach Steele runs the defense...well...hush on up.

I’d rather go 14-1 and lose the Iron Bowl than 8-5 and win. Tell me Gus’ record vs thUGA or LSU? Keeping him because he has beaten Bama 3 times is a terrible excuse. At Auburn, you’re supposed to beat Bama.

This was before last season..........

1. TOMMY TUBERVILLE (1999-2008)
Record against top 10 teams: 15-14 (51.7 percent)

2. PAT DYE (1981-92)
Record against top 10 teams: 11-15-2 (42.9 percent)

3. RALPH "SHUG" JORDAN (1951-75)
Record against top 10 teams: 15-27 (35.7 percent)

T-4. GUS MALZAHN (2013-)
Record against top 10 teams: 7-14 (33.3 percent)

T-4. TERRY BOWDEN (1993-98)
Record against top 10 teams: 4-8 (33.3 percent)

and I like Gus, but 1 out of every 3 is pitiful

Tuberville also established himself as one of the best big-game coaches in college football, as his teams won nine of their last 15 games against Top-10 opponents since the start of the 2004 season. In 2006, his Tigers recorded victories over two Top-5 teams who later played in BCS bowls, including eventual BCS Champion Florida. Tuberville had a 5-2 career record versus Top-5 teams, including three wins versus Florida.

What I take from that chart is the fact that we’ve played 105 top 10 teams in the past 39 seasons. Which averages out to 2.8 top 10 opponents every season. And the majority of those were regular season games.

Contrast that with Clemson, who has faced exactly 6 regular season opponents ranked in the top 10 at gametime since they started their 8-year run of double digit winning seasons.

ETA: and they lost 5 of those contests.

Then next year when we beat UGA and LSU but lose to Bama, the pitchforks will come out for that

It must be tough for you and Gus to fight this battle all the time.

I hope Gus pins a golden booger on your collar for bravery. You deserve it, buddy.

I don’t think Bama fans cried too much in 2017, and Auburn fans wouldn’t either in that situation.

Come on Lanier. Even you have to admit that you’d rather win a NC, going 14-1 and losing the IB, than the usual Gus 8-5.

This reminds me of simpler times when the angriest I got in life was Gus Malzahn playcalling debacles

Thats just silly. Of course I would. But I remember when the Alabama folk were so infuriated when we could not beat Alabama. It was all they talked about. Im not even taking up for Gus. Just the fact that what we want changes when we dont get it.

I live in Ga so I am more interested in beating the dawgs than Bama. Its more infuriating to me that Auburn with Gus cant beat them. I have been in Athens for every damn loss in the past 10 years.

But for some reason, you guys think its more of a Gus thing because its me. Kinda funny actually. My point being, that target moves around. No matter who the coach is.
