ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum didn't hold back when discussing Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables following the Sooners' 42-25 home loss to South Carolina on Saturday.
Speaking on Sunday's The Matt Barrie Show, Finebaum suggested Venables has run out of chances to turn things around in Norman.
"Brent Venables is dead," Finebaum said. "He is not getting back. He is out of ammunition. This has been an abject disaster for him, and unfortunately for Oklahoma fans, they are stuck with him."
Oklahoma dropped to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in SEC play with the loss, putting more pressure on Venables despite receiving a contract extension ahead of the season.
The Sooners trailed 28-10 at halftime and struggled to slow down South Carolina's offense.
Venables, who is now 36-24 since taking over at Oklahoma in 2022, expressed frustration with his team's performance after the game.
"I'm incredibly pissed at myself," Venables said. "And for all of us, it's just embarrassing. It's embarrassing in every way."
