A lot has happened since 12/20/22 when this thread was made.

quote:

Y’all expecting Freeze to slap some bandaids on this bitch and field a competitive team in 2023?

Some band-aids were frickin’ slapped

Question remains:

quote:

Just need a vibe check I’m thinking we’re looking at a repeat of this past season, maybe 6-6?

I’m thinking we might be friskier than 6-6 now. What say y’all?

Old OP:

quote:

Spin-off from jt33’s pitiful melt on the recruiting thread.

Y’all expecting Freeze to slap some bandaids on this roster and field a competitive team in 2023? Are we, at a minimum, looking at 2024 and beyond?

Just need a vibe check I’m thinking we’re looking at a repeat of this past season, maybe 6-6?

Sept. 2 - UMASS
Sept. 9 - at California
Sept. 16 - SAMFORD
Sept. 23 - at Texas A&M
Sept. 30 - GEORGIA
Oct. 14 - at LSU
Oct. 21 - OLE MISS
Oct. 28 - MISSISSIPPI STATE
Nov. 4 - at Vanderbilt
Nov. 11 - at Arkansas
Nov. 18 - NEW MEXICO STATE
Nov. 25 - ALABAMA

I think 6-6 is reasonable. Anything over that is gravy.

6-6 or tops 8-4. Really need some qb development and a oline to get the high side.

With the easier schedule, 8-9 wins next season, top 10 recruiting class, and I’m cool.

Super dependent on what we get from the QB position.

5-7 is the floor, 9-3 is the ceiling.

I'll say 7-5.

With how pitiful the SEC is, 8 wins wouldn’t shock me. But at least get me a bowl game.

Have to at least make progress for recruiting purposes.

Here's what I think of our schedule (Bold is for "I'm sure we'll win" and Italics are "I'm sure we have a shot to win this game")

Sept. 2 - UMASS
Sept. 9 - at California
Sept. 16 - SAMFORD
Sept. 23 - at Texas A&M
Sept. 30 - GEORGIA
Oct. 14 - at LSU
Oct. 21 - OLE MISS
Oct. 28 - MISSISSIPPI STATE
Nov. 4 - at Vanderbilt
Nov. 11 - at Arkansas
Nov. 18 - NEW MEXICO STATE
Nov. 25 - ALABAMA

I feel like 7-5 is the most likely scenario but I can see 9 wins on this schedule. Freeze has alot to prove and I think this season highly depends on how the QB play and the offense does. If we get good QB play and a good offense, we'll do really well

We would have been 6-6 this year if we had fired Harsin the week before state (bye week) instead of the Monday before. So if we only get 6 wins next year that will be very disappointing and people will be upset with Freeze. I hope for everyone’s sake we manage at least 7, maybe 8.

W - Sept. 2 - UMASS
W - Sept. 9 - at California
W - Sept. 16 - SAMFORD
W - Sept. 23 - at Texas A&M
L - Sept. 30 - GEORGIA
L - Oct. 14 - at LSU
W - Oct. 21 - OLE MISS
W - Oct. 28 - MISSISSIPPI STATE
W - Nov. 4 - at Vanderbilt
W - Nov. 11 - at Arkansas
W - Nov. 18 - NEW MEXICO STATE
L (but it’s at home so…) - Nov. 25 - ALABAMA

I’d say 7-5 is likely and 8-4 possible.

6-6 probably.

Harsin is getting his revenge.

6-6 should be absolute bottom with that schedule.

I've got 7-5 with just a quick glance at it.

Same mind set. 7 wins would trend us in the right direction. Below 7 is disappointing and pretty much shows no improvement.

If you believe 6-6 then you do not believe in the new head coach

Caddy could have went 6-6 this year. Now our new coach is only gonna go 6-6 next year?

Doesnt sound like much of an improvement

This has to be one of the easiest schedules we have had in a while. 4 easy OOC teams, get Vanderbilt, and have UGA and Alabama at home.

I think 8-4 is very possible.

Probably a little early since we have no idea what the roster will be in the spring.

I'll go 7-5 just on hope we get some transfers we need. This is not a normal Auburn roster where we out talent 6 or 7 teams on the schedule.

15-0 Ship!

Otherwise I have no expectations. Just going to enjoy some Auburn football in 23.
