Another factor in our favor is how unified this team/staff appear to be compared to before. Caddy showed us that last year's team underperformed a lot and not just because of talent. I think if Freeze can keep this team on the same page, we will shock a lot of people. Our home schedule sets up nice for that.

The hype last summer? WTH are you talking about? Everyone last summer said we were a 5-7, 6-6 team! And we were!!

I am talking about the hype from within the program. Players, coaches, etc. Not us

Many many years ago I saw the country music band Alabama on the Johnny Carson show. Johnny mentioned how they put out their first album, every song hit the charts and they were an overnight sensation.

One of the fellas said "yeah after 20 years of playing every juke joint in the south. You write 100s of songs and you get to know the top favorites on the road over the years. You get a contract for an album and you put the top 10 on it".

What I just described was Holden Geriner boys. And you will see his top 10 debut this spring. And just like the band, everyone will be saying where has this kid been all this time....just honing his skills biding his time.

Seriously, he will walk away with the starting job this spring. I heard on one of the podcasts one of the fellas talking about what the players thought. He said some of the players said if we had better protection last year Holden would already be the starter, he is a far better passer.

Forget the dual threat nonsense, you actually have to complete passes to be a "dual" threat. Right now we need a quarterback and he is on the roster.

7-5 feels right imo. I think the offense will have some surprisingly great games but then some turnover laden games.

I still stand by my earlier prediction above.

I was wondering if people would be changing their minds post 2nd portal period...

I think OP was before much of the early portal too, but I’d have to go check. We basically now have a new OL, DL, and QB now

After OP: we added DL Lawrence Johnson, WR Shane Hook, DL Justin Rogers, DL Nasil-Kite, LB Austin Keys, LB Demario Tolan, RB Battie + all the spring additions

Same. Especially the recruiting part. What Freeze does on the trail trumps on the field for me this year.

It's going to be a tough year, but I'm excited to see what this team can do.

We have 6 should win games:
UMASS
@ Cal
Samford
Miss St
@ Vanderbilt
New Mexico State

3 Toss-up games:
@ A&M
Ole Miss
@ Arkansas

3 Most Likely Lose:
Georgia
@LSU
Alabama

That SEC Opening is going to be rough, and hopefully we can win at least 1. I'm afraid of the team losing some motivation if we start 0-3 in the SEC.
@ Texas A&M
Georgia
@ LSU

I think 8 wins is realistic. Anymore than that would be a nice surprise
