I personally think we got 4-0. I’m not scared of aTm right now. I think we beat OM and the following 4 games. I feel the SEC will be down across the board this year except for UGA, Bama, and LSU. I’m really excited to see what HF can do with this team. He’s always made remarkable turnarounds

1. We have a better coaching staff right now than all but 2 teams on the schedule.

2. We have more talent that all but 4 teams on that schedule.

3. We have the Auburn mojo back.

1+2+3 = undefeated.

We can win a lot if lady luck is on our side.

We are probably a 6-6 to 8-4 team. Our roster just isn't good. We have some bandaids this season but bandaids don't make a roster.

Pretty much this right here. This schedule is much easier than last years. There should be 5 wins on that schedule and 3 to 4 others that are very winnable, with 2 of those winnable games at home. The roster is already better than last years imo and I seriously hope there is a real improvement in coaching on both sides of the ball. Based on all that I really think 7 or 8 wins should be the goal. As others have mentioned though, QB play will be the real deciding factor. Upgrade there, I think 8 or 9 wins is even possible.

For those expecting 6-6 or 7-5:

We have 4 gimme wins in UMass, Samford, Vandy, and NMS. If we lose one of those - the season is doomed.

We have 5 very winnable games where I think we go 4-1 or 5-0. California, Ole Miss, Miss State (new coach), Arkansas and Texas A&M.

The remaining three:
Georgia, Alabama, and LSU - we have 2/3 at home.

I don’t see how we win against any of those teams unless our QB play takes a dramatic leap forward.

In summary, for those expecting 7 wins - I don’t think you understand how dysfunctional Auburn’s team was the last 3 years with Gus and Harsin.

We are on the same page again. We will prove people wrong.

All I'm saying is:

Players are hungry, Coaches are hungry, we won the transfer portal, we're a legitimate threat in recruiting with a leader (Walker White) helping us. There is positive momentum on the Plains. Players and recruits have said that Auburn will be a threat next season and I love the enthusiasm.

These coordinator hires by Bama and Georgia are helping us aswell, Rees is a total unknown in the SEC and his numbers at Notre Dame are eh. Georgia hired Bobo and we all know our feelings about that.

I trust Freeze and Montgomery to figure out what to do at the QB position. If we stick with Ashford, he's shown that he's excited about working with him and he wants to learn. He's already improved so I hope for good things

Oh yeah if Jeremiah Cobb plays this year, expect him to be a stud

I am excited to see Boots as RB1. Feel he is underrated by most outside of AU and a few inside.

Every year for 20 years is the same thing. Preseason, players are hungry, gonna proved everyone wrong, it’s different this year, wash-rinse-repeat.

Do you remember the hype last year in the summer? LOL.

For the most part, the teams with the most talent usually wins.

I'm not going by the Byron Haskins version of Auburn. I'm going by the Caddy version. Our D should keep us in every game. Our two biggest rivals are breaking in new QBs so regardless of how talented they are, there's still a learning curve. I expect Freeze to treat Ole Miss like Gus did Arkansas. Anything less than 8 wins means we took a lot of losses at Jordan-Hare and I'd be very disappointed with that.

I’m all for a positive outlook but pre-spring there is nothing to indicate we will be a “good” team.

We have no idea if the DL is going to be able to pressure the QB. We don’t know if we have 1 run stuffing LB on the roster much less 2-3 deep. We are an ankle sprain away from having a mid to lower SEC offensive lineman and that is if all the transfer and the Juco are what we expected. There isn’t a proven number 1 WR. We have a bunch of SEC WR3 level guys. As much as I personally like Battie if Hunter were to miss 2-3 games I’m not sure Alston and Cobb are ready to take RB2 reps.

Plus we have to get much much much better at QB.

We have some strengths and I hope the coaches play to those strengths.

We may win a bunch of games this year but it would have to be schedule and some luck. In 2025 we should see some of the results of recruiting. It’s a process and isn’t fixed by bringing in 12 transfers. We haven’t finished in the top half of the conference in 3 recruiting cycles.

With all that I say we are a 6-6 to 8-4 team. Anything greater is gravy.

Hyping every one up and getting all stoked are only going to take you so far. Eventually, the rubber meets their road and the talent rises. I love all the hype but dont get too emotional over it.

Haskins made some dumb calls last year that cost some games. Factor that in with the #4 portal class, better coaching, better offensive and defensive schemes, and that’s going to add 3-4 wins to the season.

I agree he made some dumb calls. So will our coaches. We have a group of coaches that I think can be great. But first year systems without a shite load of talent usually doesn’t look to good.

I like all the guys on the team but we are around ole miss miss state kentucky level talent maybe a hair higher. That’s a lot of coaching to to make up for.

We are looking up but as I’ve said 2025 is the season to point to. We hype up this team to much and any progress can look like a disappointment and that’s not the direction the program needs. This isn’t the roster of 2013-2019.

I don’t think anyone expects an undefeated season this year, but 8-9 wins is realistic. In the portal era, rebuilds can happen way faster. Freeze drastically improved the roster with the most important positions: the big uglies.
