Things that have happen under Harsin

6-7 losing season

Shouldve lost to Georgia State

The biggest blown lead in AU history Mississippi State game

Iron Bowl meltdown

off season scandal maybe or maybe not his fault we dont know

we have 2 recruiting commits and tomorrow is july 1st.

I just dont see how AU will be a competitive program for a long time under this guy. hes clearly not going to be a 10 year hc that wins a couple championships.

Things don't look good at the moment but Auburn is not a stranger to hard times and difficult situations. If things do not improve or if the situation worsens, a new head coach will be hired.

Winning is the only thing that can save this staff and change the public narrative. I think he needs at least 8 wins to keep the hounds at bay. But 9 to really win the fanbase back.

I won't say I see a bright future, but I think the jury is out

I also think expectations are modest - 8 wins and he won't feel any meaningful heat AND that will likely be enough to get some good recruiting chips to fall. Honestly win 7 and look competitive in most of the losses and he's probably fine.

No I don’t. Even if he wins 8-9 this year, a crap ton of experience is gone, so 2023 will likely be awful.

Unless he’s good at the portal, which history has shown us he ain’t

No. The Mississippi state collapse, the South Carolina loss and the iron bowl were enough to tell me he’s a shite coach.

This. Sadly.

The man never even got a fighting chance.

If you had looked at Saban’s year 1 at Bama in a vacuum I guess you would have thought the same.

I think the jury is out as well. There were times last year I thought we looked like a well coached bunch. I do think he can keep our defense at a high level as Gus left it. I’m not convinced he can have us scoring points in bunches against elite defenses.

Saban signed a Top 5 recruiting class his first full year. Really lame comparison.

Dude if he can win 9 games with this team he will be SEC COTY.

7 is the absolute max.

What I’m hoping is that one of them is an upset and that we get kind of a ‘81 Pat Dye thing going and he can spin that into some momentum. I like the guy.

I have no idea.

I can safely say we have a less of a bright future with the state of our current fan base though.

I think judging anybody off of one year is ridiculous....especially with the roster deficiencies we all knew he was inheriting. We won't know what he is capable of for four year.

Hell, saban went 7-6 and lost to La-Mo his first year at bama. IF it was at Auburn, a bunch of our morons would have been screaming for his head.

I think on field will tell the story. A 7-8 win season where nobody really wants to play us because we play sound, competitive football will win over a lot of fans I think and buy Harsin 1-2 years to show where he's heading.

There are a lot of "inside the program" rumbles that this team can overachieve, and I hope that the cycle of purging those who didn't want to be here and going through the fire in January will create some cohesion I think we lacked in recent years.

We'll see.

Small chance. We were 6-2, killing MSU and Bo was injured. Went prevent defense and we stopped scoring. Hangover loss to USC. Tank was fighting for extra yards, instead of going down against Bama. We have to beat PSU, we have no chance vs Bama And UGA.

This line is grossly overly used. They’re not even slightly similar situations. Saban immediately added players to strengthen the team. Harsin went 6-7 and has yet to add help for his cause. Do you really think us Auburn fans wouldn’t be giddy to write off one-off outliers if the recruiting was where it needed to be. Most of us wants to love Harsin just as much as we love Pearl, yet we cannot even tell Harsin belongs at Auburn or wants to be at Auburn.

I remember Saban’s first full year at Bama. After it he signed the number one class.

Huge difference.

From the outside it appears the roster gets weaker every year under Harsin and the gap between Auburn and the top SEC teams grow wider under Harsin.

It there was an indication this was changing fans would be ok, but it seems to be getting worse.
