This line is grossly overly used. They’re not even slightly similar situations.

They are the exact same situations. Both rosters had holes. A change was needed at both programs. We aren't bama and never will be........recruiting wise. Harsin came into a region where he has no ties. Give the man time to get familiar with the HS programs we recruit. Our biggest problem has always been the same problem we have now............our idiot fanbase, and PTB, are too damn impatient. We aren't some football juggernaut and we never will be. We have our years. We have had a sustainable program. Give the man time to get there. He may not be the guy, but it's way too early to tell at this point.

You shouldn’t denigrate the fanbase for not being lukewarm fans that is willing to accept mediocrity. I better understand why you support Harsin now, and as such your position of being a milquetoast shite Auburn fan is solidified.

“We aren’t Bama”
You’re a pussy

We aren’t historically a top 3-5 football juggernaut, but are historically a top 15 team which is pretty awesome.

I agree about our idiot fan base. Just look at this thread. We are giving Harsin an excuse to win 7 games and 9 would win him CotY, meanwhile, Malzahn would have won 9 or 10 last year and 9 this year. This said, our fan base hated him so much that we paid him millions to leave.

Now here we are with a coach with no ties in the area yet, two rivals are the top two programs in in the nation and are both in our regional recruiting grounds. Add in NIL starting up while our fan base is in the down cycle and not pumping out the money to keep up in the race and this won’t end well for any time soon.

Recruiting looks grim. Low chance Harsin is successful here. It all begins with recruiting.

nah, I am just a realist. I have been watching Auburn since the 60's. We have our years. A lot of you expect more than we are capable of producing consistently. We have too many built in disadvantages. You are just a naive fool.

Hell, saban went 7-6 and lost to La-Mo his first year at bama. IF it was at Auburn, a bunch of our morons would have been screaming for his head.

I don't believe Saban would have had remotely the same success at Auburn as he did at bama. Our boosters would have never allowed his autonomy and the NCAA certainly wouldn't have looked the other way while a kid's family moved thousands of miles to play or the athletic parking lot filled with Chargers. Either way, Saban would have been sent packing at some point.

Sadly, Harsin never got a fair shake. The booster bafoonery this off season ended his shot.

Saban signed a Top 5 recruiting class his first full year. Really lame comparison.

Guess you didn't see the comment I was replying to. He was specifically saying the on field performance in 3 games last season "proved" to him Harsin couldn't coach.

I really don't understand why our fanbase shits on coaches all the time? It boggles the mind. I want to see how we shape up in recruiting this year and how he does without Bo Nix.

I'll have a clear feeling on him after this season.

Saban went 7-6 and lost to La-Mo his first year at Bama.

You can't really compare the two situations. Saban already had a National Championship under his belt. They knew he would succeed eventually.

Your post wasn't quoting anyone, so I have no idea who you were or weren't responding to.

If you want to play that narrative; Saban had won a National Title in this very conference just two years prior - so no, I don't believe that Auburn fans would be "calling for his head" over a 7-6 season where recruiting was booming. It's an incredibly silly narrative to try to paint. That Alabama team that Saban coached to a 7-6 season was also worse than the Auburn team that Harsin went 6-7 with. They had John Parker Wilson at QB.

Again, he pointed to three games last season as proof that "Harsin is a shite coach."

Not sure how you can't see this is lunacy.

By the way, I don't think Harsin is gonna get it done at the end of the day but yeah, I do think they would have felt the same about Saban vs ULM because I was there. Finebaum callers were gold that year.

We fired the coach at AU 2 years after a National championship. And he was killing it recruiting but decided he wanted to play football like Bama instead of like Auburn and got killed for a year.

Nobody cares what fringe fans say. Fringe fans didn’t like Pearl as well despite his solid coaching job he already proved he could do at Tennessee

Saban had the previous accomplishments, the recruiting, and the turnaround that basically kept most of the Bama fans from howling.

I have no clue why Auburn fans constantly want to compare to Saban, or their PTB, or to their AD. And then they wanna say “we aren’t Bama.”

Our locker room had turned into the Lee County Detention Center as well. That had as much to do with our failure as anything else.

......and Harsin came in with the third highest winning percentage in the nation............behind dabo and saban. That isn't enough for some of ours though.

Regardless of what all went on in the past we were the number 4 SEC with only Bama and UGA out front, LSU slightly out front when the last coach was let go. And we were the only team to regularly beat Bama.

Now our roster is about equal to Ole Miss/Arkansas. And doesn’t look to be getting much better.

Harscuses guy:

“Harsin and Saban had similar first years. Give Harsin some time!!!”

Jang: As if failing miserably in the first year could possibly be a sign of greatness ahead. The difference is Saban actually recruited well and knew how to fix the team.

Hardashians:
“We aren’t Bama. Get used to it!”

Jang: we have 2 commitments in July. Can we at least be an Arkansas?

Haskin’shumpers: Not until he removes the wheat from the shaft. He is the chemo
killing devil cells left behind by Gus

Jang: So, at the end of the day, what should our expectations be?

Bryan’sboogers In UNISON:

8-5

Still got to win, the person who succeeded Chip Kelly didnt do as well at Oregeon, just as I suspect whoever takes over Bama after Saban wont do as well.

Harsin knows how to coach and win but we have butt hurt boosters who hold Auburn back and just want the hot name.
