Still got to win, the person who succeeded Chip Kelly didnt do as well at Oregeon, just as I suspect whoever takes over Bama after Saban wont do as well.

Boise was the most talented program on the conference thanks to one man only, Peterson. Boise’s records got lower the more it moved past Peterson’s era.

I don’t give AF what his record was against UNLV or Fresno State.

Back on topic. No, Harsin won't get us to where we want. Yes, Gus needed to be fired. Harsin will be a good stop gap until this conference realignment is settled. There could be a coach or two wanting to get out of a dead conference and we swoop him up.

Exactly. The Mountain West Conference is not exactly a high level of competition. The problem is that nobody bothered to look beyond the numbers. You can have a great record coaching high school and then struggle when taking a job at the college level.

For the record, I agree with every word you said.

But I’ll still give a pass to any coach on their first year. The time to turn it around starts now. Need either significant on the field progress or recruiting progress over the next 12 months.

He was a successful head coach. Hell we have hired worse people and given them more time

He is going to get more time. He will at least get the upcoming season. We can only hope that it will be better than the last one. The inability to recruit makes that less than likely.

True, but we have not hired a worse recruiting staff since I can remember.

Hopefully they can scout better. It’s not like our top 10 classes with a “great” recruiting staff got us anywhere recently. Pathetic how many draft picks we’ve had with how good our recruiting supposedly was

I have yet to see what Harsin is particularly good at. He has no coaching identity on the field. Gus originally came in as the offensive genius, Saban the defensive genius, Harsin just seems bland in all areas. And he’s had a lot of turnover with his staff and setting us back in recruiting.

Kiffin and freeze are below our moral bar here at AU, but they can score some points on a football field.

So A&Ms class last year, and the one Texas is putting together this year....its simply because they got some good cruitin coaches? Im just asking for a friend. So we need to go out there and gets us a good crutin coach and he will fix everything, am I right. Boy you fellas got it all figured out.

Thank goodness we dont need to spend any money on NIL, you boys got this one nailed. Whew what a relief.

I don't care if you are at Slippery Rock. If you have the third highest winning percentage in the nation, you can coach. Yes, you have to have talent wherever you are.........which we lack at the moment.

I didn’t bring up NIL, I said I don’t know Harsins football identity. I could point to the disasters of the USC game and MSU game, and bombing out the last half of the season as well.

Is he networking and building relationships? I don’t know. Doesn’t seem like it. Hopefully this upcoming season is better.

That problem is no longer with us. That was squarely on Mason. The MSU game is the dumbest called game I think I have ever seen.

The” problem” ranked in the top 30 in many defensive categories and gave Auburn a shot in the IB.

The other guy, aka the guy that wanted the job at Washington, didn’t have any such achievements. He did nothing of note.

until he stopped blitzing, once again, and bama starting picking us apart.

Do you watch the games or just make shite up to fit your narrative?

Do you know football or do you know vague water cooler talk? If you want to be the Herbstriet of our message board go for it bud. Bama was already figuring out our defense by the time fourth quarter came around. Nothing of that defensive gameplan was short of magical. If Harsin told Tank’s arse to stay in bounds and not screw our defense Auburn would’ve won.
