One week after saying Auburn has a huge lead. His comments in the article didn’t paint us in the best of lights either.

Recruiting changes like the direction of the wind.

Does anyone else look forward to how stupid the posters in the rant will look for bashing Harsin as a horrible hire. My guess is in 3 years we will see other schools try to copy the model when they make hires

I have enough bookmarks to drizzle them for years.

UF just accepted a commitment from a kicker so Auburn appears to be in the driver’s seat for Alex McPherson, the #1 kicker in the class. He will visit UGA so there’s still that

Additionally, KN thinks it’s Auburn or UCF for 4* DE Caden Story and 3* LB Micah Pollard. He likes Auburn for both but it’s interesting that UCF is in this one.

Some rumblings on Twitter that we've gotten McPherson but I can't find anything from official sources yet ... could be people overreacting or reading between the lines, idk.

So Bama is not interested in Story? Just not enough room? Odd recruiting spot for us, we may end up with some highly ranked players because they just arent high enough for Bama, and on the bottom end we have to fend off UCF for recruits.

I think Harsin will do just fine. I say again, Im just impressed we got this many highly ranked players to take a trip, and some a second visit. Administration staff doing some excellent heavy lifting.

And coaches are a good mix of SEC experience with Boise St. continuity.

We lead, but he has a trip to UGA this weekend. If we come out of that still leading then its fair to start making that assumption imo.

for the record, I'm a Harsin fan, I think he's doing a great job organizing and setting us up for long-term success and I recognize that instilling a culture and coaching to a standard takes more time than plugging players into a 'system' like the previous staff. That being said, I have an honest question about Offensive Line recruiting...

I don't see a lot of offers being made, but then I'm not hawking it on a daily basis. Is it that 2022 is not a particularly bountiful OL class or do we not yet have the right guys targeted or what? Perhaps we will just have to play a good many games before OL recruits have confidence that there is a future here.

I believe that the staff thinks what we have in-house is better than most believe and I hope that is accurate.

I think the above and we're offering double the players we have in the past including OL. Some of that is COVID but some is by design. Bobo and Friend are proven SEC recruiters so I'm not too concerned. Randy Savage is gonna body slam me.

They can’t offer the same kids over and over again. Offers aren’t generally a ceremonious event that we hear about. Some kids post it on social media but for the most part they send a letter, call the coach, etc., and the kid is offered.

I said a few pages ago that I wasn’t very confident about him. I think jt33 was. I don’t think Auburn liked him at tackle

I was, but it was kind of by default lol. I hope the JUCO ranks have some good OL this year. I haven't looked at any yet.

WHo really knows with these guys...

Sapp visits Auburn twice, and never goes to GA, but Auburn is left out and GA is in his final 4. Ofc he is from GA.

Can't really tell anything when these guys say great things about their visit or make more than 1...

I think these kids sometimes do a "neck check" ie make certain things are working from the neck up, and not letting their emotions get in the way. So they like Ga but decide to take visits to other schools just to make certain.

So now that the June visit hype has died down with, quite frankly, a whimper I'll say it. I've been following Auburn pretty devotedly since the mid 90s and recruiting since the early 00s. This is the least amount of buzz and excitement around our program I can ever remember with the possible exception of the Jetgate year and 2008. Even in 2012 we were coming off some good recruiting classes and even somehow signed a top 10 class after that season. Right now, woof.
