re: Economic ramifications of Israel/Iran conflict

If monkeys could fly out......
They might as well have started the article with "sources say".....
China needs to worry not the rest of the world, and the rest of the middle east can take up that slack.
Straits of Hormuz.....didnt the houthis just beg the US to stop slapping their arses like a well used horse? Yeah they want no part of it, and since Iran cant even protect shat in their own town I doubt they will venture there either.

Theyre both firing missiles at each others’ populated areas.
The IDF actually broadcast out the energy targets in Tehran and told the people "move and dont return until you get another broadcast".
Thats quite different than indiscriminately shooting hundreds of missiles into cities.
re: Congressional Committee on Homeland Security to Investigate 200 NGO's
Posted by trinidadtiger on 6/15/25 at 10:26 am
There are 1.5 million, thats million NGOs in the United States.
I always laugh, its such an oxymoron "non GOVERNMENT organization" many are anything but.
And while we focus on USAID donating to them, when you combine the 435 govt agencies, our govt probably gives 10 times USAID budget of 24 billion, to these organizations. Heck, in the last 76 days of bidens dept of energy they clipped us for 20 billion.
Listen to Benz podcasts with Tucker, they are everywhere in our govt doing things our govt cant legally or ethically do.

From Al Jazeera today:
quote:
The Shahran oil depot is one of Tehran’s largest fuel storage and distribution hubs. It has nearly 260 million litres of storage capacity across 11 tanks. It is a vital node in the capital’s urban fuel grid, distributing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel to several terminals across northern Tehran.
The Tehran Refinery, located just south of Tehran, in the Shahr-e Rey district, operated by the state-owned Tehran Oil Refining Company, is one of the country’s oldest refineries, with a refining capacity of nearly 225,000 barrels per day. Experts warn that any disruption to this site — whatever the cause of the fire — could strain fuel logistics in Iran’s most populous and economically significant region.
Down south, the offshore South Pars gasfield in the Gulf contains an estimated 1,260 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas, accounting for nearly 20 percent of known global reserves.
Meanwhile, the hit on the Fajr-e Jam Gas Refinery, in Bushehr province, threatens to disrupt Iran’s domestic electricity and fuel supplies, particularly for the southern and central provinces, which are already under huge stress. In Iran, blackouts cost the economy about $250m a day, according to the government’s estimates.
Sounds like they are definitely going for civil unrest.
How did police know to secure other pol homes in MN, but GOP pols get swatted continually?
Posted by trinidadtiger on 6/15/25 at 6:22 am
In the reporting, after the first couple was shot, the police immediately checked homes of other politicians and that is how they stopped him at the second home.
The police said they keep an active list of politicians for just this reason.
Then how come Majorie Taylor Greene's home has been SWATTED eight times. And how can someone as high profile as Kash Patel have his home SWATTED?
For goodness sake MTGs entire district is 800,000 people. How many swat teams are there, and after the 3rd or 4th time someone, anyone doesnt say, hey wait a minute, ya think this is a false alarm?

More than likely a renegade faction of Iran (of which there are dozens) who was brainwashed thomas crooks style, and launched it.

We created osama bin ladin, lee harvey oswald, and thomas crooks, we knew Japan was going to bomb pearl harbor, and evidence that we knew about 9-11, we also developed a virus that killed millions just to win an election.........does that change your mind about the US govt?
At least Israel thought they were picking the lesser of two evils.

It will certainly cause civil unrest.....
Most of the population is sick of them spending billions on terrorist activity instead of local infrastructure.
quote:
Iran experiences widespread power outages and rolling blackouts, particularly during peak summer and winter months. These outages are due to a combination of factors including aging infrastructure, high energy demand, and drought impacting hydropower generation. The situation is exacerbated by international sanctions and the government's inability to adequately address the energy crisis.

Posted by trinidadtiger on 6/14/25 at 1:31 pm
That should help with the civil unrest........
quote:
Approximately 70% of Iran's total energy consumption relies on natural gas. While Iran is a major natural gas producer, it also faces significant gas shortages, especially during peak demand periods like winter. This shortage is despite Iran holding the world's second-largest natural gas reserves.

I want to see a lot of these agencies looked into regarding NGOs and no bids, they are frigging everywhere.
Dept of Energy and that nonsense with gap tooth in Georgia and the other 18 billion stashed in a bank for 10 other businesses.
Dems will argue, the law says the money must be spent. But it certainly does not include theft and fraud. When you work for the dept and give billion dollar grants to your former private company that is outright fraud.

re: DHS revokes temporary status of Haitians, other nationalities; confusion sets in
Posted by trinidadtiger on 6/14/25 at 7:56 am
You guys do realize their "temporary protection status" of 18 months started in 2010 and has been rolled over for every time
We have Hondurans from 1999 and El Salvadorians from 2001.
There are 17 countries with Temporary status.
This latest judgement only covers the Haitians, Venezuelans, Cubans and I think Nicaraguans.
These folks literally have anchor grandbabies by now.
What an absolute mess our immigration is.
Back to the haitians, they got refugee status which means......money and benes from the get go. Its over they need to go home. Their country is a shathole and will always be a shathole.
Haiti was the first experiment. Then Rhodesia, and now South Africa.

re: "Dynamic pricing" being used in some stores
Posted by trinidadtiger on 6/14/25 at 4:51 am
One, the major chains work off cost plus 20-25% and that is the cost at the shelf.
Two, cost plus 10% seems like a bargain, who cares when they add it, if they post it you know the price when you get to the register.
Three, "dynamic" is relative. Suppliers submit prices weeks in advance and for most items the price, or specials are only a few times a year, exceptions would be things like soft drinks, beer, where specials are run more often. Hence the store knows the price well in advance and probably does a download at night for the following day.
Four, if you want a masters degree in retail, study Wal Mart who is a logistics/money management company.....who also sells groceries.

using only state taxpayer dollars
So when a State gets too far into the red and lobbies for a bailout, are they still obligated to pay off the debt accumulated by illegals healthcare or is the national collective of taxpayers going to eat it?
So if the state is going to pay for it.......why would they need to enroll in the "federal" medicaid system?????
Or is it like Cali who ripped off the federal government by fraudulently overbilling by 19 billion dollars over three years and then giving the care under calpar??????

Homan did an interview and some of the businesses they raided, ICE was assisting the FBI and DOJ it was their raid.
Seems they have targeted some businesses that are fronts for laundering millions of cartel money.

In 2022 we gave the teamsters pension fund nearly 36 billion because the leaders had thiefed it, so we just replenished.
