Truthfully, I'm not sure they would spending anything at all. It would be the ultimate scam by the NFL.

Get college football to sign over its rights to the NFL. From there, the NFL now has control of college football, has a new revenue stream of allegedly billions of dollars, the NFL takes whatever it wants from said revenue stream, and leaves a little behind for the universities and players.

At least private equity infuses capital into whatever business it takes over. In this case, the NFL doesn't have to spend any money. College football already generates billions. This idea is not even honorable. It's a flat out scam. A hostile takeover is more honorable than what this proposal offers.

The only thing the NFL offers in this scenario is subjugation and theft.

Because the NFL understands that it would be a money loser. If you want college athletics you have to deal with the Colleges, which means dealing with federal law, Title IX, the taxpayer, students, and a whole lot of things that they don't right now, or at least not in the way they do now. It's why the schools haven't left the NCAA; because they would have to go form another version of the NCAA to deal with all those things - how does that help them???

The NFL has taken professional football to a level no one could have expected. The BS that many players have to put up with is sickening and downright sad in some cases. This will end up like the WNBA in some form or another.
