Holden Geriner says he’s recruiting the following receivers:

4* WR Kojo Antwi
4* WR Barion Brown
3* WR Jay Fair
UR WR Antonio Williams

Fair’s offer list: ND, A&M, UGA, UF, etc
Williams’ offer list: UGA, ND, Oregon, Michigan, USCw

Good insight on the top WR targets as of now

KN saying he might put in a CB tonight. Not really sure who it could be.

CB is in for Powell Gordon a DE/OLB from Auburn HS. Other offers include Vandy, Kentucky, and Duke. Says he's been a lifelong fan.

I don't know anything about him. Maybe some people from the area on here know something though..

Not sure. He got like 8 offers today

He ended the season with 88 tackles, 14 sacks and around two dozen tackles for loss.

Just spent like 3 whole minutes looking at his film, so I'm an expert now. He's got a good first step, but he looks smaller than his listed weight imo. Def an OLB recruit for us.

Doesn’t look 215 but he looks tall. Looks quick and he seems skilled at getting off blocks.
Most of his sacks are from him taking advantage of the OT which is what you like to see

Randy don't get me all fired up about the early recruiting season. I'm sure with our current commits and some of the future ones we could compete in the Mountain West. Oh wait we compete in the SEC West my bad.

Don't give me any excuse about the 1 month thing. If you accept the commit you plan on taking the player. Yes we need depth players but in my opinion you should be looking to get the momentum type players that other players want to play with. First year recruiting results aren't always the end all be all but it definitely sets the foundation for expected recruiting cycles. Not bitching yet but definitely off to a very weak start.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not sure why they would offer a kid like this now. He'll be around to offer if we whiff on other, more talented LB candidates.

He's being recruited as a middle linebacker for those wondering

Dear god, he has been offered now BECAUSE they believe in the talent. If they're willing to take him NOW, then that says what they think about the player. Does that make sense? Bama has a commitment from an unranked player - why did they offer now? Well clearly they did so because they believe in that player enough to commit to them already, regardless of their ranking.

The recruiting services defer almost entirely on Camp Events to distribute rankings because it places an entire group of players on one football field at the same time. Due to COVID, there have been no Camp events in ~1.5 years now. Many of these current rankings are built off of Freshman/Sophomore Camp showings. With no national and regional events to defer to, the recruiting services are behind - period. You can already find an entire cache of players who are UNRANKED and holding 5+ major P5 offers. How does that make sense?

You need to defer to the judgment of the football staff who makes a combined ~$10+ million a year. Not a "recruiting service" which is clearly well behind and missing the one piece that they place HEAVY emphasis on (in-person camps). We already know how much they defer to camp events based off of the pattern of instances we see wherein "Player A" goes to a camp and only has an "average day", and then subsequently drops ~50+ spots in the very next national rankings. Their game tape is the same before and after that camp performance.

... not to mention how many (eventually ranked high) kids say they were the first to really come after me.

I actually just saw this and came to post it. Thats interesting to me.. He needs to put on a lot of weight to play in the middle, but then does that end up affecting his speed? I would think that would be something the coaches would like to see first, but KN says he's take right now..

And I'm just going to keep it all the way real here, as a whitey myself.. White LBs, especially MLBs, don't have a high rate of success lol.

Still far too early to be worried about anything though. The strategy seems to be to lock down some local kids they like early and then work on the bigger names.. Just going to have to be patient for now.

Guessing they caved to criticism. Alabama HS coaches were getting pretty rowdy with Tennessee

Maybe Harsin is looking for his next Leighton Vander Esch?

So confusing...

So the HS coaches were able to pressure them in the same day, they announced he was released but not to an SEC school?

It looks bad they had to make different decisions in the same day...:)

Yeah I think he's an OLB. There's just a short list of very successful white LBs coached by Harsin
