I'm really not sure I could care that much even if we were somehow good. Most of what I liked about CFB is gone.

I enjoyed following recruitment and development of players - sometimes you might not see the payoff for 3-4 years, but I knew the roster, not just the starters - I knew at least the 2 deep. Now I really could hardly name anybody outside of the Quincy Rhodes and our QB (I forget if it's AJ or KJ that's supposed to be better).

The post season sucks. Bowl season used to mean something. Late december was like the appetizer games, gradually getting better. New Years Eve/ New Years day was comparable to the first week of March Madness. Now most of those games are pointless. Playoffs are fine I guess but it's destroyed any other post season importance. It already started to be ruined before the playoffs, moving games away from their traditional days/times in order to maximize TV $.

I don't know what conference anyone is in. I hardly hear bands anymore, just piped in music. Notre Dame and USC aren't playing each other anymore. I don't know who plays for anyone, other than they are likely playing for whoever agreed to pay them the most money.

Not that I have a problem with professional sports, but if I'm watching that, I'd rather watch the big show, not the minor league.

I'm in favor of diverting any resources we can to basketball, which I still love. They've at least kept the post season incredible. The roster turnover is not really as big of an issue - I think even a casual fan can keep up with 8-9 core players from year to year.

I haven't bought season tickets since 2016.

Arkansas like many programs doesn't have to rely on ticket sales when they get millions from television and media rights contracts, donations from wealthy boosters, cooperate sponsorships, merchandising, licensing, conference and postseason payouts.

Then you add revenue sharing and they certainly won't miss you if you drop your season tickets.

Memphis would have knocked off Mississippi State and Auburn at home last year.

Silverfied has to be better than a lazy Pittman and a washed up Petrino.

He is washed up.

Petrino in his prime would have not started Taylen Green.

He use to make adjustments at halftime many times during his first stay here but his offenses would disappear in the second half last year as opponents would figure him out when double digit leads dwindled in the fourth quarter.

The turnovers and penalties never got corrected and Pittman unfairly got the blame when Petrino should have been blamed as well.

The worst two games is when the defense had good games and the offense collapsed in the second half against Auburn and he had the most penalized game in program history since the 50s against an awful Mississippi State team.

No one cares about yards and points when that doesn't win games.

Petrino was hired more than just that. He was hired to save Pittman in which he failed. But when it was his time to shine after Pittman was fired, he failed miserably.

He had plenty of chances to become the head coach at Arkansas. He had no excuses in not winning a single SEC game last year. That was asinine.

Yes he would have. He left to go work with Vick. He has done nothing but want a running QB that could throw… like Lamar Jackson.

Petrino is a lot of things but he is still top 5 play caller in the country for college football. It is everything else he sucks at.

He needs a GM that says you want Taylen, you need a Singleton. You want a Taylen, you need a Wilson or Allen. You need a guy who can get you 5-15 yards and keep chains moving then hit a bomb if needed but not every play.

I think his biggest problem is himself/not taking a hands off approach on the GM side. He recruited most of his problems.

Do I want him back? No because I don’t believe he can take his hands off and just coach what he is given.

It is worth noting that the two HCs who hired Petrino to save their jobs were both shite canned.

Hell, even a bad defense would have sufficed. They could have still been bottom third, just not within eyesight of literally dead last in all of D1 football and won at least 3 more games. People severely underplay how bad our defense was last year. It was literally on par with the Morris teams.

In both stints, Bobby was awful when it came to penalties.

The 2010-2011 seasons had committed 183-1,424 in penalties. Turovers was worse then at 51.

The 2024-2025 seasons had committed 186-1,582 in penalties. Turnovers was better at 43.

The defenses played good enough to win in the Auburn, State, LSU and Missouri games. All held under 400 yards. Arkansas lost the Auburn game due to four turnovers. The offense lost a 14 point quarter lead against State and had an atrocious 193 yards in penalties. LSU because of turnovers. Arkansas lost to Missouri due to another atrocious 121 yards in penalties.
