That's fair.
In the grand scheme of things this game has very little to do with my lack of belief in Silverfield. I've never been bought in since the hire. Maybe I've just been burned too many times. I'm to the point that a coach has to do something to give me a reason to believe before I go down that road.
FWIW Bobby almost lost to Western Illinois in his first year. Not necessarily apples to apples, since that was before the transfer era and you couldn't really reshape a team in your first offseason, but still

Petrino had talented freshmen that are better than the current players.

I can relate to that. I think I’m just numb to it at this point. I still care but just not to the point ghat I get worked up like I used to which is probably better for my blood pressure and overall health. And I don’t scare my dogs anymore by acting like a maniac, so that’s a positive. I really do want something to be excited for but it’s been so dang long.

This conference has too many cutthroat programs and Arkansas isn't a good fit.

Yuracheck is not a leader. He hired Pittman because former players told him to. I suspect he hired Silverfield because Memphis beat us, and there's always a cadre of people calling to hire a G5 coach away from any program that beats us.
Even hiring Cal was Tyson's idea.
Our AD hasn't made a single big hire that was his own decision in his entire tenure, assuming I'm right about Silverfield.

I mean he interviewed Stein in Boise and he almost had Dabo lured way from Clemson.
Could you imagine the excitement of bringing chaggy back as OC.

I agree with that. HY made a damn good hire with Muss.
Posted on 9/5/26 at 11:00 pm to Roy Suggs
He didn't hire Muss on his own. Boosters already talked to Muss and had to let HY know he had interest.
It's the same narrative as the Cal hire and Tyson.
Every other hire had came from within the programs .
No one has been willing to step up to help the same in football, maybe it was jerraiah being burned by Chaggy, maybe it was HY being made a fool during the Kiffin fiasco.
The only thing HY has done on his own is upgrade the lighting system in Razorback stadium for a program destined for day game time slots for home games 2 years and counting.

Do you not realize that North Alabama is the UAPB of Alabama? We would have straight up lost to a higher end FCS school today. We were a 40 point favorite and didn't even cover half of that.
Hook, line and sinker

It's always funny to see the people that want to melt and just jump at anything to do so. This team is bad! Only won 31-14!
Meanwhile, Kyle Whittingham with his track record and top 15 talent at Michigan needed a clock error 2nd hail mary to beat Central Michigan and they stormed the field.
WVU won by a touchdown over Coastal Carolina. Texas Tech beat Abiline Christian by 3 scores and were only up 14-6 at half. Nebraska looked god awful vs Miami Ohio. Vandy only beat Austin Peay by 19.
You always forget that people like that just want to be negative or have a meltdown, even if it's pretty dumb when you look around the country and see many other coaches and programs struggling week 1 and the general sloppiness week 1 brings even in pro football.
Save it for when Utah beats the shite out of us at least.

Oh and how the hell did I miss our first choice hire Eric Morris losing 24-10 to god awful 1 win in same conference (AAC) Tulsa?
Morris has way more talent than at UNT, brought his best players with him from UNT, and got beat down by a team in the same conference that won 1 game in it last year.
Now that is something I'd melt over.

Favored by 40.5
Chad Silverfield will lose to Utah by two scores
You can spin it like a top, but this performance wasn't good.

Utah is favored by just 9.5, people should be hammering that before it changes over the week.

House money now after the 40.5 spread

No one worth it wants this job because we will not collectively do what it takes to win because of false, non-existent moral high ground. Everything is there to bring someone in if we have a functioning BoD and athletic director who isn’t an idiot. Yesterday was a massive disappointment across the board though. Not going to a fricking game ever again if that’s the “Razorback Way” now. Bunch of woke little kids and retarded hope springs eternal adults who aren’t willing to look around and say “this is the world’s biggest sunbelt game”

This is rich.
You dumb asses keep buying tickets and supporting a dead program.
Ya'll are the damn problem, although I doubt you've ever purchased a season ticket.

Now we get to the part where it was fine to judge Petrino on his results taking over as interim mid season, but for Silverfield, who gets a full offseason with full control, we shouldn't judge for years
This right here. And it drives me up the wall.
“PeTrInO dIdNt WiN a SiNgLe GaMe”
Meanwhile he took over mid season after getting blown out at home by ND.
Add to that he had essentially no defensive staff and still had us in position to win multiple games, but bad breaks, bad calls, and untimely turnovers cost him.

Get a damn grip guys, it was his first game.
And this is why we are in the position we are in. This line of thinking has gone on for decades now. I understand every team struggles but you can't preach details and come out with 3 penalties in the 1st quarter of the 1st game. You just can't. Especially against this level of completion.
Hopefully people catch on after the next few arse whoopings and stop attend the games. They haven't the last 10 years but things need to get absolutely brutal at the point for monumental change.
