I see and understand your point. Cal became ours and all was forgiven by most, including myself. But for me, still a resounding no on Dabo.

1000% no on Dabo. The guy has thin skin and is an incessant whiner/complainer. I can't stand the guy.

We are a football program that is the worst in the SEC. I think we are rebuilding to get above dogshit level. Our football program is literally the worst football program in the SEC, which I think pains most people to even admit. We are below Vandy. I am not sure what we are as far as how we want to win and what style of play we should go with. I just want to get back to being competitive again.
I think Franklin can get us moving in the right direction and hopefully beyond. Most would have enough confidence in him to at least bring us back from the gutter. Who knows what he is capable of here but as I said, I wouldn't be upset with the hire.
Wish all the shenanigans that go on with coaching hires etc....give Golesh a look. I say this on Golesh as well since apparently Petrino is out.

I won't complain if we hire Franklin since we essentially need a fricking rebuild and I think he is capable of that.
But I have no issues with Golesh at all and would welcome him to the program, to me he is an exciting hire. Absolute hard pass on Silverfield though.

I am not sure what game Walt was watching. But the fact that he was on The Buzz talking about the game says it all anyway.

This morning Discord is reporting that Franklin is still our #1 target with Bob Chesney being our #2 target.

Please no on Fleck. As shitty as I feel and as down as I am....there is absolutely no reason we can't do better than Fleck.

You pretty much nailed it. I've said a couple of times that I'd be all in on Dillingham but that isn't gonna happen. If there is any smoke on him coming here it is just him playing us.
Fleck mentioned is just crazy talk.

Please enlighten us on who you think we will get as the next head coach. All things considered from our inept athletic department and NIL situation.
Who do you think we have a realistic chance at hiring?

Dillingham deserves a solid look as well
I wouldn't be upset at all if we managed to hire Dillingham. Just not sure we could pull off that hire. Stranger things have happened I suppose.

Sure seems like you have it..opining for a 20-25 coach because you have found memories of 2 seasons 15 years ago that has never reached that goal again in a much weaker ACC or in the FCS.
Your assumption is wrong. I am not 'opining' for anything and it's common sense considering our current situation(mainly our AD) that BP is the clear answer to our head coach situation.

I've never had 'poor little Arkansas syndrome' at all. My concern about this hire isn't that no one wants the job either.
The real concern for me is about the competence of those that are tasked with making the hire. Honestly, I truly believe that we have some really good coaches out there that are very interested in this job. I just have almost zero confidence that they can go out there and make a damn good hire.
And fwiw, I have no issues hiring someone other than Petrino if it is good candidate. I don't have any confidence at the moment that HY and Co. can make that happen and would likely frick it up.
And that is partly why Petrino is the answer for me. Give him a competitive NIL package and see what happens. I personally don't consider him washed up and I think he has partially shown that the last two games. Kids don't need to be convinced to play anywhere these days other than $. Support the staff with the right NIL package and we are in good shape.

Who do you propose we hire that we have a realistic chance, other than BP?
I'd take Mullen any day over Gus but frick em both. Mullen's tweet looks like he got a kid to write it for him.

My Dad's family is all from the Pansy to Star City area I spent a lot of time around there growing up. Everyone in the family that hunted always talked about panthers being around and seeing them. I never did but it was common knowledge that they were around.
Merle for me as well.

As I mentioned in another thread.....outside of some crazy home run hire that isn't gonna happen, hire BP and give him one hell of an NIL budget. With the money we can save by hiring BP, throw that $ back into the coaching staff.

I killed a few of my remaining brain cells by slumming it over at Shitville to see what the experts have to say. Seems there are a few experts that think Jimbo may be the answer. I'll go smash my nuts with a hammer right quick.....
frick it, outside of a no-brainer hire(not likely to happen anyway), give me Petrino and a competitive NIL budget.
