Don’t watch DJ’s video of you get ticked off over guys not giving full effort.
Our offense was loafing all game and DJ called them out for it. I don’t care how good Chris Marshall is, he’d sit the bench against Utah first time he takes a play off.

Not to mention the sheer retardation of giving the play away pre-snap by physically reacting negatively to a check at the line.

Yeah but you are forgetting just offering that much doesn't mean anyone is choosing Arkansas. Money does not mean we get them. Who the hell is going to pick us at a $5M offer over any top program? Or even if Bama/UGA/Texas etc were offering $4M or $4.5?
It's kind of like free agency where the bottom tier teams in MLB, NFL etc have to offer significantly more to sign guys than the good teams do. Guys would go play for the Dodgers at $100M than the Pirates at $110M.
We have to get the program back to a better level nationally to have a shot at getting top guys at premier positions.
I relate it a bit to Mike Anderson in 2011, took him several years of shite at a bottomed out program to consistently get us back respectable and in the tournament most years which then allowed us to attract a coach like Muss to take us to the next level.

I rewatched the game and stand by my assessment. A good offensive line is the key component to having a good offense

I'm not going to panic after one game. I've been around football a long time and here is my take.
1. Yes... offense was not great... but I think the gameplan was pretty basic, and I think the o-line can get a lot better just by communication. I need to see them play with an edge and didn't see it. KJ will settle in I think and we will get better. Receivers have to make plays. Jordan dropped a wide open ball and it looked like we need to clean up some routes here and there.
2. I think we all have HDS... Hog derangement syndrome... we are so used to having to score a ton of points to win that we didn't stop to appreciate that our defense may actually be pretty good. That makes me feel a little better in that the offense won't have to carry us.
3. Clean up the mistakes. Too many penalties. Especially the offensive line. If they can improve we will be ok. If not, yikes.
4. Clearly this is going to be a long build not an overnight fix. It's gonna take patience. I am SOOOOOO tired of the naysayers.....
Give him some time and let's see what happens. At least the coaches didn't look dazed and confused on the sidelines... that's an improvement.

This is realistic and it’s where we’re at. I’ll take the week 1 W and not place expectations on anything and we’ll either show our arses or surprise. But yeah, clean up mistakes, knock the other team on their arse, and yes people like me need to give some grace to the new staff and not pass early judgement based on traumatic history, lol. We’ve had a run of shite coaches even when we had a couple of 8 win seasons. This was always coming regardless of NIL and portal. It sucks that it’s on this level though.

It also didn’t help they were using new lingo and maybe modified plays because of the ex-Memphis players/coaches with UNA.

First…I don’t know what will happen any more than anyone, but it is actually possible that KJ can learn and improve each game. Shocking news that an inexperienced QB was a bit jittery and too cautious in his first true game with “starter” expectations on him.
He could flop. But he can also improve. There really aren’t any huge missing pieces in his physical ability. Size, arm strength, speed….its really just relaxing and having confidence in whatever read he sees. It’s ok to check down to a wide open back in the flat and miss a guy downfield once in a while vs throwing a pick.
IJS….the kid could (and should) improve. All Arkansas fans aren’t like the keyboard experts in here who whine about everything (yet likely never progressed beyond Pop Warner football themselves).
Back off and see what they can do. The hole was and is deep. That’s not Silverfield’s fault….its not KJ or any other current players fault. If you’re (perhaps rightly) disgusted by the failings of the program over the years….then go root for LSU or Texas…become an NFL fan…whatever….but the incessant negative whine from a bunch of internet wannabes is part of the problem,

Good post man. That has been my biggest issue, why panic after one game? Do we have a long way to go...absolutely. And could we get our shite pushed in tomorrow....absolutely. But we haven't played Utah yet and I just don't see any reason to panic after the first game.
We have damn near a new roster and let's see how this team and staff improves as the year progresses. And we have to give Silverfield some time. Our program is in no shape to be picky at the moment.
