it’ll never happen because those people don’t care if we win or lose. Wine and cheese crowd who go to the game because that’s just what you do in the fall in Fayetteville.

It kind of reminds me of the Musselman era, along with the other teams that took a ton of new transfer players that all mostly looked pretty bad yesterday. Okie Lite took the most transfers in the nation and lost by 2 scores to 1 win Tulsa yesterday for example.

Muss would overhaul our whole roster every offseason with new transfers and it would take until mid January and awful SEC starts before they started playing well.

The only thing I'm really looking at for Silverdong is how the team and players look in a couple months. That is how you determine if he can coach and develop, otherwise nothing else matters.

I don’t buy season tickets or attend football games. Gave that up when Chad arrived.

Lot less margin for error in a football season though

FWIW Bobby almost lost to Western Illinois in his first year.

Here's what a lot of folks have forgotten, during Petrino's first year he had Casey Dick as QB and made him look light years better than his predecessor (Nutt obviously). Last year KJ looked somewhat better than he did yesterday.

I did see some quit in the players yesterday also, I know it was 100 degrees or better so I'm not knocking them for that but if it's the same in cooler temps that's going to be a problem.

That 2008 team had the best WR group in program history.

I forgot the "common sense" of the NIL transfer portal era was to spend half the season losing games while you develop the transfers. Something tells me that's not a recipe for success when half your team is incoming transfers on a yearly basis.

You know it's bad when the cope is comparing to a sport with 1/10th the roster size and triple the season length that you can suck in for 2 months and still make the postseason tournament.

Utah is favored by just 9.5, people should be hammering that before it changes over the week.
Better move quick. Up to 11.5 and something tells me it's not done moving.

Arkansas fans: ‘We need to be realistic and only expect 3 or 4 wins this season’

Also Arkansas fans: ‘There’s no excuse for a team made up of transfers & new coaches to make mistakes their first game. They should be flawless in every game because NIL.’

I love your optimism brother, every year you have faith which is awesome, honestly, and I hope you’re right and I’m dead wrong, but it seems to me like we are staring down the barrel of a 1 win season. By the way, a 3 win season should never be acceptable at Arkansas. Ever. If that’s how low we’ve sunk I say we join the sun belt.

What 3 or 4 games do you think we're winning?

I remember Casey Dick starting, sucking and every QB on the roster getting a start including true frosh Wilson at Texas, before going to back to Casey Dick to try and salvage a bowl game. They started the season with narrow wins over Western Illinois and UL Monroe. The season ended with beating LSU at Little Rock which gave optimism going into the off-season.

They were young playing 20 first year players between recruits and players with little experience from the prior year.

This year there are 80 players on the roster who are first year at Arkansas.

Last year was the experienced roster. Last year was chaggy level play.

Not sure if knowing we’ll likely win 2 to 4 games, but expecting bowl eligibility is being optimistic but I’ll take it.

Maybe I’m just more forgiving of people doing the best they can, as opposed to getting upset over something not controllable. Putting myself in their shoes helps.
