So even the best seasons over the past 35 years had bad wins on them. The outlier being 2006 and 2010 only no bad wins those years.

His model was to recruit, stock pile talent, develop, plug and play these guys when they became upper class men.

The portal made this model obsolete/impossible.

He refused to use the portal which lead to net losses to the roster and the team seeing more underclassmen play significant snaps.

With NIL he was splitting it evenly amongst the roster, not a good model with the portal and immediate eligibility.

Because of the above no top coordinators want to sign in to that sinking ship.

The irony is Clemson only rose to mediocrity when Danny Ford paid players. They fell back to mediocrity for a couple decades after he was let go and will return back to their normal mediocre ways for refusal to buy players in the portal.

Its ok. 8-4 is a really good year. There is nothing to be embarrassed about.

I've never seen the first string pulled after the third quarter on offense against these opponents. Maybe the final series or two for the back up qb to hand the ball off until time expires.

What I have seen is the first string defense left on the field the entire time because they had to be.

They rotated in the entire depth chart throughout the game including the first half on defense. Third string lbs and lbs in the field in the first half and throughout the game. They rotated in WRs, TEs and HBs on offense throughout the game.

You guys are comparing to a second year qb who made and NFL roster in the same offense with NFL skill players and linemen surrounding him in the second year in a system. With all of that, this years starting qb still didn't see meaningful time against the similar opponent last season.

I've never been on board with the silverfield hire, but the complaints are ridiculous when petrino did the same shite the last two seasons neither of which were good seasons. I know it's always someone else's fault than his.

I mean he interviewed Stein in Boise and he almost had Dabo lured way from Clemson.
