Why we and schools like Ole Miss tolerate this is beyond me. We need to give the same kind of "frick You, prove it" position to the NCAA that the schools that get away with it do.

Pretty sure we tried that and got put on probation.

Ole Miss...

Well you know what happened there....

Ole miss was stupid. They should have slow played the cheating and of course coaching up players on not to speak of the cheating on tv.

Yep. Baseball is more of a mild interest sport for me.

If you're just looking at it objectively, the college world series will average 1.5 - 2 million viewers per game, whereas the New Years 6 bowls will get around 11 million per game.

College baseball is a very regional interest. Most of the top-tier talent for the sport never steps on the field for an NCAA team.

That's a shame it's a mild interest for you, your name makes for a pretty good hog related baseball pun.

I don't understand what message you're trying to get across here. Seems sort of vague.

Stolen from tRant just to put in perspective how shitty bert and chad really were for you guys, this is the record of every sec school from 2015-20

1. Alabama: 79-6 (.929)
2. Georgia: 62-17 (.785)
3. LSU: 56-19 (.747)
4. Florida: 52-24 (.684)
5. Texas A&M: 49-26 (.653)
6. Auburn: 48-29 (.623)
7. Kentucky: 42-33 (.560)
8. Mississippi State: 42-34 (.553)
9. Tennessee: 38-35 (.520)
10. Ole Miss: 35-36 (.493)
11. Missouri: 35-37 (.486)
12. South Carolina: 31-42 (.425)
13. Arkansas: 26-46 (.361)
14. Vanderbilt: 24-47 (.338)

Now we may not have ever been world beaters but we are not historically the second worst team in the sec. when I tell you guys chad and bert were historically horrible I mean it. Football is not a lost cause and once we get a competent coach (which I think Sam is) we will be back to at least the middle of the pack and competing for championships every 3 or 4 years.

The SEC is a whole different beast than it was under Nutt, Even Petrino. We will not compete for the championship anytime in the next 3-4 years, possibly 5-7...

We can be middle of the pack though. I think that's fair no reason to be thst low. We should be in the top 6 or 7 consistently

The SEC wasn't as top heavy back when Petrino was here. Someone besides Bama actually won a title. Top to bottom it didn't as many mediocre teams.

If Pittman can stay the course then Arkansas can certainly compete in the next 5-7 years.

We should be right around Auburn level just a bout each year.

To answer the original question...I still say this. This all day. I'll take basketball excellence and baseball dominance all day everyday. It's more sustainable long term, especially in our conference.

The post season in basketball and baseball is quickly dwarfing the actual season of football, post season isn't comparable between the three.

Even during 21-5, the excitement isn't the same as march and June. Maybe it's the lack of rivalry games in football or more of the one way rivalries we've found ourself in. Maybe it's the way the games kill a Saturday in the fall that would be time better spent doing something productive when the weather is tolerable outside.

I don't see it. You might have some recency bias The Sugar Bowl and the LSU game to get to it, being #3 vs #1 in Baton Rouge. I don't think the state has been that excited about any sport since.

Nothing would ever beat a NC in football, but the hype around Basketball and Baseball in Fayetteville is real right now.

Still finished second and third in the west in those years. Really had nothing to show for except beating an overmatched KSU team.

I will still take an NC in baseball or a final four over a football season that didn't win the SEC.

There was a minute there (under Petrino) that I thought we had passed Auburn.

Auburn is a yoyo program. They haven't had back to back 10 win seasons since the 88-89 years. Arkansas had one in 10-11.

The difference between the two is that Auburn takes advantage of talented teams when they cycle up.

Arkansas doesn't take advantage when the pieces come together and let opportunities slip away.
