That's a hard burn on ND, though.

I mean, so? Good for them - it worked.

It looked like we prepped for Clemson for roughly 17 minutes.

Well, it worked. They clearly did it right.

Yeah thems the breaks. We almost certainly couldve spent a few days of offensive game planning on Oklahoma and then the rest of bowl season offensive gameplanning on Clemson.

Yeah it worked out this year but that is a slippery slope for sure.

I told you so. It'll be even worse next year they can spend 2 months on their playoff prep.

Seems legit. They looked like a different team in the Natty vs all other games, including the 1st playoff game. They had an extremely vanilla gameplan against ND.

At first glance, we probably didn’t need to practice for OU’s defense. However, our offense needed to be so on point in that game that I don’t think we could’ve risked taking time away from that gameplan.

Committee rewarding Clemson- who had already played the easiest schedule in the playoff by. far. ND in round one blew my mind. Football is a game of matchups, and the hardest matchup in the playoff was anyone's defense Vs the Heisman winner/Okla offense.

I thought for sure Okla would jump over an idle ND after championship weekend.

Clemson got ND in air conditioned Dallas, while Bama chased mini mike vick around in 80 degree 80 percent humidity which led to an injury to our starting OLB.

I'll ask again... what is the point of finishing No.1 if you dont get to pick the team you play round 1. (since the committee can't figure out no one wants to play the lowest ranked team- everyone wants to play the weakest team)

Last year Clemson was no.1, and the committee rewarded them with Bama. You know damn good and well Dabo wouldn't have picked Bama to play round 1.

Were you not one of the posters saying how unfair it was that Clemson got ND and we got Oklahoma?

You noticed that . Clemson has a lot of built in advantages they don't need the committee helping them.

This year will be far worse. Should they get by Aggy, they have a stroll in the park to the Number One Seed with a schedule half the SEC West could run the table on.

If we happen to make another run, this time they'll have TWO months to get ready.

I’m not saying this is why we lost, but plenty of posters knew this was a huge advantage before the playoffs. I’m pretty sure there were threads on this very subject and I think on how the committee should jump Oklahoma over ND so the #1 seed got the easier matchup.

Not a popular sentiment now because you got some posters that are concerned that would look like excuse making.

Meh. Alabama got the easier draw in 2015 with Michigan State.

That’s not very “fun” to spend all month on one team.

Committee rewarding Clemson

I agree. And you could argue that the 4th seed has been better than the 3rd in four of the five playoffs.

2014 - #4 Ohio State was much better than #3 Florida State
2015 - #4 Oklahoma was much better than #3 Michigan State
2017 - #4 Alabama was better than #3 Georgia
2018 - #4 Oklahoma was much better than #3 Notre Dame

The committee has gotten glaringly obvious things wrong every single year. That's part of why the Playoff is the worst selection system since before the Bowl Coalition.

Compare Alabama and Clemson schedules that year. Alabama deserved the easier draw.
