One guy making a statement is our fan base "clamoring" now?

Okay.

No. This is one example of many. No one appreciates the job Golding is doin, while hamstrung with this defensive front. Does no one understand context? Pruitt had much, much, MUCH MORE to work with.

I'm gonna cook ribeyes now.

So your argument is Pruitt hasn't had an elite defense at Tennessee, not Alabama.

My bad. I misunderstood.

But I'd rather him have an elite defense for us than someone else

I'm a "circle the wagons" kind of guy. Pruitt took his horse and rode to Knoxville. frick him. Golding's my guy and I'll continue to support him. He's succeeding in difficult circumstances, and I recognize that.

Roll Tide.

What the frick?

since Pruitt left

Just read, man.
quote:

No one is "clamoring" for him to replace Golding.

quote:

If Pruitt gets fired we have to bring him back, right?

Bring him back as an analyst for the rest of this season and put him at DC for next
quote:

Adding Pruitt as an analyst if he's fired isn't going to change that either.

My over-arching point here is that I want less coaching turnover at the coordinator positions. I don't care at all about the analyst position.

quote:

Did you think he was excelling last week?

I'm intelligent enough to judge the whole, not the part. Yes, I think Golding has done a bang-up job, overall.

quote:

having dominant defenses. We haven't had one since Pruitt left

Neither has Pruitt.
I also think Smart was a better DC than Pruitt, although I didn't like how he got away from the blitz late in his tenure. Of the best defenses under Saban, Kirby definitely coached the best 2, and maybe the best 3.

Hey. Denim on denim’s back, bruh.

Lordy! I've missed you!

You can get a mulligan on the demin remark and come at me again if you're feeling froggy. You can do it, bro. I got your back.

Lordy!

Now it's officially gameday night now that Lordy crawled at me! ROLL TIDE!
But my real point here is that I believe Golding is doing a good job. I see no reason for Bama fans to be clamoring for an old DC who left us for one of our rivals, instead of supporting the coach and players we have.

Again, we are top-10 in every advanced metric that measures total defense (advanced metrics account for opponent strength and garbage time), and we're doing it with more than half our front 7 missing before the first month of the season is done. I think Golding is excelling, and I think many Bama fans are spoiled and unreasonable.

Ron Zook is several classes above Pruitt as a head coach. Several.

Pruitt took over a bad team that has been bad for a long, long time. It's obviously not easy to win there.

I have a rule: every coach gets 3 years. There's way too much that needs to change about some of these programs to judge them earlier than that.

He’s been underwhelming

The following it not at you specifically, Phalange de Oro:

According to 75% of this board, so has everything else (except Tua and WR's).

Meanwhile, we're outclassing everything we touch.

I've just decided to support whatever we put on the field - good or bad. Being overly-judgemental just seems like the way to waste the enjoyment of a dynasty. Oh, the stories I'll tell if I live to be an old man about the way some fans acted round these times.
quote:

I guess if you think he’d quickly get hired at even a decent P5 job after what he’s shown as a head coach so far you and I will have to disagree.

I think that many President's and ADs across the country have a disease of hiring retread failure coaches. I've seen it for decades. The Ron Zook's of the world can keep getting jobs if they want them, and Saban could rehab the image of Beelzebub himself.

Some of my college buddies played juco baseball near there in about '97, and a group of them strolled into the Boobie Trap and found a one-armed girl chicken-winging it onstage.
I think our Oline is coming together. I'm hoping Saban can get that unit, and the team as a whole, peaking at the end of the season rather than in September like recent years.
quote:

He looked awesome today and so did Brian. Some of you have questioned his ability as a RB but I don't understand why hate on Najee. Anyway, were you pleased with his play against a solid G5 team?

I think the RB improvement will go hand in hand with continued improvement in Oline play.

Dude. Clearly you have an issue. You have been posting a lot on the board and the gif was an attempt to get you to put the phone down.

Quit thinking that you are too smart for everyone else on the board. It is pathetic. Stop posting. Have a beer. Get laid. Something. You’re becoming obnoxious.

Nah, I'm waiting on my wife to finish getting ready and am between games. I'm leaving in a few and won't post for probably 3-5 days, as this board becomes intolerable on Sunday-Tuesday. Take care.

McElwain won the SEC East division twice in his 2 and a half years at UF.

Yep, and UF tore those Banners down from the stadium the day after he was fired, becasue that's how pathetic it was.

McElwain was fired for fielding a bad team that got worse and publicly lying to and being insubordinate to his direct superiors, and was back as a head coach shortly after. If that's possible, Pruitt can be a HC forever.

Did you just go to the trouble of posting a gif for the purpose of speaking against posting?

Wow. You are oblivious.

They didn't.

They quit.

Sorry that hurts your little feelings.

No, they didn't quit. You quit on them.

But let's stop. We don't like each other sometimes and it goes nowhere. Enjoy your Saturday night. Roll Tide.

Based on the tremendous job he did as UT’s head coach?

No, based on the tremendous job he'd do again as Bama's DC.
