I still think they should draft PG regardless of what they do with Ball. I just don't think they're going to deal him because his contract is very pricy with 5 years left on the deal. He's not a UFA until 2029-2030 offseason. A team is only trading for him if they think he can anchor their franchise for a half decade and the exact reasons you're talking about selling high is why almost certainly no one will think that he can. The Hornets are all-in on Ball and Miller being their core by the looks of it.

And I think they can be a contender in the East if everyone stays healthy and they make a few more smart draft picks in this year's draft.

Herb being able to guard all 5 positions a little bit cover downs for this lineup makeup issue a bit.

Should have been there last year, but he finally seems to be getting some recognition for dragging an otherwise pitiful defensive lineup to being an overall good defensive team. Herb is flat out the best on ball defender in basketball right now. Not bad for someone who is mentally retarded.

So the NBA all defensive team is 4 centers and Herb?

That's a weird list and a dumb to not have separate positions. But that's awesome for him.

Definitely happy for Herb.

I kinda prefer the new, position less lists for All NBA and All Defense teams as far as ensuring the most deserving players don't get bumped down or left off.

I like it in theory, until I see a list with 4 centers. It would also be nice to see good defensive guards get recognition. But aren't these "all xxxxx" teams tied into max contract amounts, or is that only the all NBA teams?

Been looking at some 2 round mock drafts as we get closer to 5/29 and I haven’t seen either of our guys get mocked in any of them. Now that the scrimmages have settled a bit you’d think most any player who was going to get a promise from a team would’ve already heard.

There should be a Herb apology thread stickied at the bottom of the Bama board for all time.

Yeah, I don't think anything has changed. Sears is in a position where he can truly choose between two great outcomes, a better position than most in his situation. If he gets a guarantee, he can start toward his dream of playing in the NBA. If the feedback isn't great, he's going to get a fat NIL check and come back to his home state, compete for a title, and pretty much go down as a Bama legend if they make it to a FF again and/or loads up on the record book.

There's a really good shot of him coming back, I don't think his performance during the scrimmages did him any favors and the mocks by the more reputable journalists don't have him listed being drafted.

Sucks rooting against a Bama guy to fail a little, but here we are.

You aren't wrong but we would be pulling for a guy who would be making 7 figures and if things go well be a legend in Alabama Basketball lore forever. Not a bad backup plan.

And the NBA isn't going anywhere next year.

On this page, I've seen this...

And this....

Last year's team was Mark's team. He was unquestionably our leader and MVP on our first final four team. He didn't do it alone. But if y'all don't already consider him a Bama legend, y'all have some fricked up standards.

I hope that doesn't come across as being rude. Not my intention. But how y'all don't already think he's a Bama legend is crazy to me.
