I think we got a squad this year.
Man, I do too. This roster is kind of crazy.

I think it’s fair to say Cora didn’t share in his vision and was a bigger problem than people want to admit.
Yep, was pretty much the same with Chaim. Cora liked the way Dave did business and the nerds from Yale aren't going to operate that way. Cora started using his stroke with ownership and that worked until it didn't. The extension still cracks me up though.

Hard to imagine Craig and he cooked in the same sentence.
There's been some bad deals for sure. Multiple.
His last eight months of roster building are looking pretty good to me.

In this case I think they’re downplaying the injury hoping to not seem desperate and give away any leverage for other players.
Certainly possible. The next few days are going to be very interesting. I'm excited to see what Craig cooks up, but i'm nervous about it too.

If tweet fails to load, click here. I wish I could trust the Red Sox medical staff on injury timelines.

He’ll get dealt.
Agreed. Not dealing him would be a horrendous decision.

Should be an adventure. Boston has to have the strangest roster composition in baseball
+2 DRS and OAA in 108.2 innings at second base last year. Small sample. If the bat is real and the glove is serviceable then it's a great trade for the Red Sox. I like Early a lot, but not every trade needs to be a fleece job. Hopefully it works out for both teams.
Agreed on the roster. Has to get cleaned up this offseason.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but that looks like a team that averages 125 points per game.

Sounds like Mead will be at 2nd.
ETA: Craig has to clean this roster up.

It totally affects the strategy of the game.
For the better. LOOGY's are a thing of the past and professional baseball is better off for it. Same with ABS and pickoff limits. I think it's a smart move for college baseball.

That wingspan should be able to poke some balls loose on the perimeter.
For sure. 6'6 wingspan for a guy that's 6'1 is exceptional. Assuming he adjusts well to the speed and physicality of the SEC, i'm pretty excited to see what he can do as an on-ball defender. I love that he's from the Bronx too.
I got curious so I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole looking up wingspans of some of our ball handlers under Oats so I figured I would post them since I took the time to look them up. Also, not all of these are "official' since everyone hasn't been to the NBA Combine yet.
Mark Sears 6'2
Aden Holloway 6'3
Jahvon Quinerly 6'4
Kira Lewis 6'5
Jaden Bradley 6'6
Jaden Shackelford 6'6
Latrell Wrightsell 6'6
Labaron Philon 6'6.25
JD Davison 6'6.5
Amari Allen 6'8
Keon Ellis 6'8.5
Herb Jones 7'0
What the hell, I looked up our current roster too. I hope these are all accurate because that's a lot of length.
Aden Holloway 6'3
Anderson Diaz 6'6
Amari Allen 6'8
Jaxon Richardson 6'9.5
Tarris Bouie 6'10
London Jemison 6'10
Cole Cloer 6'11
Qayden Samuels 6'11
Drew Fielder 7'0
Keitenn Bristow 7'1
Jamarion Davis-Fleming 7'2
Collins Onyejiaka 7'2
Brandon Garrison 7'3

Quick feet and he's got the ball on a string.
Saw someone say that Diaz is like a combination of Mark Sears and Aden Holloway. There will always be a spot in a Nate Oats backcourt for an offensively gifted guard like that. I am curious to see what he will look like on the defensive end though. Has there been any commentary on that anywhere?

Has to be about Anderson Diaz reclassing to play this year.
