Bristow from Tarlenton St is on a campus visit today. Would be a depth piece in the frontcourt.

Well probably add three more and I’d guess Rylan is one of them. Need to knock it out of the park with the other two spots because that roster is nowhere near what we’ve had the last couple years and has a lot of holes. I assume one or two of the freshmen end up redshirting because you aren’t playing 13 and most likely aren’t playing 12 to any extent.

Give me a starting PG, Rylan, and a stretch 4 that can relieve TBB instead of having to rely on someone like Jemison immediately. If Bethea plays up to his potential and Aden/Aiden makes the growth expected, that's a pretty dangerous lineup.

Ayers, Ogelsby, and Nixon.

Word is an accident while cooking.
Everyone will be picking Duke and absolutely don’t blame them. Duke has been a wagon this year. Best chance to win is to get them in foul trouble, especially Flagg, since they don’t have a deep bench. It’ll be a rougher quick turn around for them compared to us. If we can dictate pace I think we’ll have a strong chance.

Wooley is visiting Louisville this weekend. I imagine Bama will get the last visit. Bol Bowen is visiting us on Tuesday.

Bol Bowen would be a great fit. Can play the 4 and a little bit of 5 for us. Shooting numbers look impressive.

Feeling really good about landing Wooley. Talked to some KSU guys when the team was up in Huntsville and the expectation for a while has been for him to be playing at Alabama next year.
It was a fun time in Huntsville last night, crowd definitely showed up. Closer than what we were obviously hoping but always great to catch a walk off in person.

Sorry I have nothing to add because I haven't watched one second of BYU play basketball this year, but I just wanted to hear this board's opinion on the game.

We match up well with BYU. They're a poor man's Kentucky, a UK team that we have beaten three times this year. BYU likes to shoot 3s like us but they don't push with the same pace as we do and it's not even close. They have a lot of length in their lineup but not exactly a whole lot of size in the frontcourt, I'm not sure how they're going to be able to handle Cliff or Nelson. Since they jack up so many 3s, long rebounds could be an issue for us since our backcourt is significantly smaller but I don't think that advantage is going to be the most impactful.

UK also can't run anyone off the 3-point line, they're near the bottom in the country when it comes to 3-point defense, both attempt, and percentage. If there was a game to get the backcourt's confidence back shooting the ball, it'll be this one. Their overall defense is pretty bad as well, it's interesting to see people knock Bama in this game for their defense (which has improved) but conveniently don't bring up BYU is worse in basically every way.

BYU's main advantage over most teams is their bench, they don't skip much of a beat production-wise. However, that advantage becomes a bit more negligible when playing another team with a deep bench like us.

It'll be a shootout for sure but I see Bama pulling away late and winning by 9+ points.

Binged the whole season in one day while I've been in bed sick. What a show. The first episode grabs you in, and a couple of episodes in the middle were pretty meh, but the final two episodes were incredible. It did a nice job of answering almost every question from episode 1 but still developing new plots for season 2.

The '70s were seen as a sort of renaissance even at the time

That ended w/Jaws and then Star Wars

I forget which podcast he was on but Tarantino talks a lot about 70s movies, especially in his book, and touches on how that decade was a huge cultural shift in pictures and kind of faded away until basically the 90s. IIRC Tarantino says Hollywood's timeline is more cyclical than it is linear because everything made is in response to previous years. So there will always be these big spikes and dips.
Anora was the best film I watched all year outside of maybe Dune Part 2, I'm glad it one.

If a movie like Anora is too artsy or inaccessible for someone then idk not to be rude but just stick with something else.

Casually just dropping major spoilers in a non spoiler thread for a movie most of this board hasn't seen.

What a prick

I agree with your sentiment regarding random spoilers, but you also clicked on a thread regarding a film you haven't seen yet, obviously, there is going to be some risk.

IMO the tent scene harks back to Helena watching the CCTV when Helly kissed Mark spontaneously as she's leaving right before the OTC incident. You could see her astonishment. Helena saw in Helly a freedom she's not experienced because she comes from a long line of psychopaths.

She definitely did not have a normal childhood and probably not a single regular relationship to this point based on her bloodline. She was definitely jealous of her innie.

quote:

Something deep down in Helena is connected to Helly and their common attraction to Mark. It also occurred to me there's a chance Mark gets Helena/Helly pregnant.

Based on the intro, I would say there is a good chance she gets pregnant, from either of the hookups.

quote:

I also knew immediately last night when the blurry figure entered the diner that it was Helena. And as Mark was about to take his leave, Helena seemed to be wanting him to say something, perhaps some recognition beyond his knowledge of who she is as an Eagan.

This was shown in the trailer leading up to the new season but yeah it was definitely a test.

quote:

P.S. Anyone remember after Helly's first day, before we knew she was an Eagan, that Mark almost ran her over in the parking lot after their shift? Why would have outie Helena Eagan been walking through the parking lot after work as if she was going to her car?

I would guess Helena did not have that big of a role within the company at that point, she took on the responsibility as her first big assignment as the next leader. Probably wouldn't be a point for her to have a driver and all that until she was officially announced.
The best decade in film. Stacked list.
Casablanca
Heat
Ocean's 11 (2001)
The Big Lebowski
Blade Runner

Any guy who has had comic books knows DC is supposed to be Dark.

Marvel was always darker compared to DC, way more complex characters.
This was pretty much expected, you can't rewrite and retool a movie this much and expect it to turn out well. During production was around the time Fiege and Marvel said let's bring it back in and actually come up with a more coherent plan.

Also, DP/Wolverine was just straight-up nostalgia bait, with no actual story involved. It was cool finally seeing Deadpool and Wolverine together but we didn't get anything out of that movie outside some fun action scenes. If Marvel doesn't land FF then yeah they're in real trouble.
