That’s crazy, surely Auburn has had similar success then?
Is it safe to discuss the ending now?

I thought it was well acted, but the "twist" I think everyone saw coming a mile away. I thought 10 Cloverfield Lane did a better job building tension and getting the viewer to question what was real and not.

I still want to see us rock white helmets again I don't care
Outside of the buyout in two years jokes, it's a tough place to coach.

1. You're guaranteed Alabama and UGA every year.

2. Throw in the rest of the SEC, the toughest conference top to bottom.

3. NIL and the portal have evened the playing field a bit, which sounds like a positive, but you're now competing with schools you thought you had a leg up on, and that's not even counting the top teams/bluebloods you're recruiting against as well.

4. Disorganization between the athletic department and boosters, we've seen it get messy in the past couple of coaching searches.

5. A problem for basically every school, unrealistic expectations. It's tougher to be dominant at the top, and the middle/lower tier power conference teams look at Indiana and Vandy and now expect those immediate results.

Yeah good luck.

Initial Hot Board:

Jon Sumrall - wife is AU grad, from Huntsville, so maybe the top realistic?
Jimbo Fisher - lol
James Franklin - fits better at VT
Brent Key - why leave GT for AU at this point? Alumni as well
Clark Lea - Pavia merchant
Eli Drinkwitz - if you leave Mizz, aim higher
Kenny Dillingham - not a chance
Ryan Silverfield - meh
Alex Golesh - I think he has the luxury of waiting and picking his spot, whether this cycle or the next

Going to be fun to watch it all play out. Good luck competing with UF, Penn St, LSU, and then the schools in their tier.

Pretty excited to see their coaching wishlist, I'm sure they're totally realistic options.
Yeah I agree. I think they went for the shock value of sleeping with the coach’s wife rather than thinking about what would be next.

I kind of hate the cliffhanger for the finale. It’s like they’re just putting it on pause to see if we get another season or not, pretty weak.

Regarding the lack of football criticism. The scenes we did get, looked solid but nothing special. I wouldn’t want to watch half the runtime go to these games. Just go watch an actual football game I guess?
Good movies are still coming out, but people don't show up to theaters to see them. Ironic you reference Marvel in your post.
They just went through a brutal stretch and were rewarded with a road game where South Carolina treated it like their Super Bowl. A win is a win.

He needs to prove he can consistently win big games. Right now, he is no different from Sark, Kiffen, BK, Drink....

Elko is best HC in SEC and is building a program that all want to model after. Take him a year day of the week over any other coach.

It should be illegal for you to share a football opinion.

Hopefully he's never in a car with a Georgia player
I believe it's still on HBO Max but there's also a documentary Scorsese made of his parents and his life growing up, really cool as well.

Still after 5 games it's odd to not even have seen a picture. But i can't look to much into this. You have to suspend belief to enjou this show.

He's busy enough trying to be an entirely different person, idk if he glanced at a picture of someone that he would recognize her later in a dark bar after a few drinks with his guard let down.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but Bama just went through the toughest 4-game stretch you're going to find and went 4-0. Letdown spots are going to happen. I'll take any kind of win this coming Saturday but the way the college football landscape is today, no one is running through their schedule like some dominant teams did not even ten years ago.
The book is great and Michael Mann is back to direct. Looks like a loaded cast as well, pretty excited for this one.

There's tons of evidence that Milroe was absolutely toxic in the locker room. Saban himself implied as much when citing his reasons for retirement.

Ready to see this evidence.
Not everyone is ready right when they step on campus. Look at the progression Mac Jones made through the years he was in Tuscaloosa as an example. Milroe won the job a couple of years ago because of his rushing upside and no one else stepped up to take the job. Last year Milroe was a captain and it was DeBoer’s first year, he should have been benched at certain points and disagree with not seeing Ty but also understand what DeBoer was going through. Simpson got another year to sit and develop and we’re seeing those benefits today. No need to keep digging up the past.
The Big 10 is good but they're incredibly top heavy, nothing has really changed outside the NIL aspect and schools like Oregon and Penn St writing blank checks to win and compete with Ohio St and Michigan. There are some other good teams but the bottom of that conference is a joke.

What non-SEC fans still don't understand is that almost every week you have to bring it or you have a good shot at losing and road games are consistently tougher.

I’m in process of buying hard copies of all major shows and movies I really care about for that reason.

Physical media is the way to go. I have a ton of movies but need to eventually shift to TV and get copies of the shows I really like.
