That's the junk food that tastes good.

As far as the media goes: They are provided for in the constitution. They are responsible as a watchdog and "guardians of the truth". Therefore, while entitled to profit, they are not to consider it in their reporting. I.e., just because the populace wants garbage doesn't mean they are entitled to produce it, certainly not at the expense of truth.

But, if you title your article "Miller provides the gun that killed...." rather than, "Miller returned Miles' gun..." you aren't technically lying and you get more clicks. Or if you say, "Miller's and Bradley's cars blocked the jeep from leaving..." rather than "The jeep couldn't get around the other cars on the narrow street..." same thing.

What is the line on the game tonight? Has it changed since yesterday?

When the Miles news broke it was known other players were questioned, we even knew it was Miller and Bradley. People moved on from the story after like a week.

Same thing will happen here. From what I can tell there are some genuine media members wondering why Miller didn’t see a suspension given his involvement and they came for Oats because of that and his comments. Everyone else doesn’t really care, they just want to see worst case scenarios for Alabama. That’s why almost every thread on the Rant is about this or go to a rivals board on 247 and it’s all about this subject. Something tells me those aren’t for concern over the people involved or trying to get more information.

When people calm down and move on to the next thing to get upset about it’ll be back to basketball, from a PR point it was definitely a bad look yesterday not being more prepared.

Miles texted Miller:

"I need my joint a n****r rl jus got fakin"

In other words, "I need my gun, a guy is acting tough around me.

They searched Jaden Quinerly's apartment and found a gun and a hoodie that Brown was wearing at the time of the murder. Jaden wasn't there at the time.

It might also be a galvanizing thing for the team that pulls them together even more. Us against the world kind of thing.

I'm ready to move on to just basketball though. How is A&M still moving along with just 2 losses? I'd like to see them with 3 before our game with them.

Tennessee couldn’t hit a shot down the stretch. I think them playing at Miss St could be a bit tricky for them. I’m not worried about another game until we visit them, hopefully with a two game lead.

I don't know the situation and the last thing I would want is feeling guilt that I didn't help him and something bad happened.

It was literally a bad situation Miller was forced into. He has no fault here. It wasn't like it was his gun, he handed it to the shooter or he instructed any of this.

Eggxactly. At 19 years old some guys pay a lot of money to join a group of guys that say they're your brothers for life, and you pledge to fight for them and all sorts of crap like that. Athletes bond together as a team of brothers. They war beside one another on the field or court. What happens in baseball when the batter charges the mound? The bullpen better at least trot their butts out for show. It's what we as men do. Our grandfathers were chomping at the bit to go to war with other countries and kill.

I don't want Miller, or Bradley suspended or charged with anything or anything like that so long as the cops checked them out thoroughly and found that they did nothing illegal or criminal, but man it sucks that this happening in the middle of an historic season around one of the best players we've ever had. A murder involvement with players on our team is just not good, no matter how you slice it. Hopefully it will all pass over and what we know is the only thing that will come out. The gun/thug culture is so incredibly dumb.

100 a.m. to a college teenager is like 630 pm to most of us people living in the real world. Older generations night times were 6 to 12~.

The younger generations have been operating on 12 am to 6 am as their “nighttime”, with maybe 10p - 6a being another alternative.

The media is trash. These are clowns that are overpaid and have cushy jobs while only trying to stir up as much crap as they can. They don’t care about the victim...they just want to create stories.

These writers or personalities offer nothing to society yet they think they’re some voice that everyone should listen to.

“Miller could have prevented a tragedy but chose not to” is a headline I saw. Absolute garbage. As if he knew what was going to happen. Trash to put this on Miller...but being outraged and causing outrage gets clicks.

Brandon Miller returned Miles’ property to him. That’s all that happened. It’s terribly unfortunate and in hindsight sure Miller should have not given him his own gun but in the moment there’s no way he could have known the result.

Everyone likes to put themselves in these scenarios and act like they would have been a hero and done everything differently...bullshite.

I get that Miller didn't do anything illegal, but if he had responded to Miles' text with "Nah, not bringing your gun to your drunk arse, man, you need to leave if you think someone's going to be shooting", then a 5 year old would still have their mother and Miles would still be playing ball.

I've been a dumb college student, but there's not a single scenario in which I ever would have brought a loaded gun to someone on the strip at 1:30 am.

One we don't know the gun was loaded. The gun was loaded when Miles let his friends know of its existence. It's fair to assume that the gun was loaded but Miles could have also loaded the gun. I heard this mentioned by the AL.com reporter but Miles technically could have been showing the gun to a friend, selling the gun to a contact, or doing any sort of innocent activities with the gun. To read into the initial request after the fact of the shooting is not helpful.

Miller had a dash cam on his vehicle and the footage was reviewed. If he was blocking in a car to prevent someone from being able to leave it would have been shown. It is more likely that in a crowded parking lot the last car in might unintentionally block a car from getting out. I have no idea how the parking lot is laid out but sometimes people park all over the place even in non official parking spots or on grass and its a free for all. Assuming this is like a Walmart parking lot with clear exits and aisle ways is presuming something. I assume the dash cam footage was conclusive if Miller was not charged.

I agree this is not a smart move by Miller but the outrage people are showing towards him and wanting the book thrown at him is a little over the top if you ask me and a little over the top considering the evidence. It's not a nothing burger but it's not what the national media is portraying and those that say his college career is over are just hunting for clicks or fans of other teams.

It really doesn't matter what you or I would have done. It's irrelevant.

What matters is that Miller didn't do anything illegal.

Miles and the other idiot will pay for what they did. It's on them and the other shooter.

Word of advice to Bama fans reading this thread who are tempted to go on the Rant and discuss this with other fans. Don’t. They are not interested in honest discussion of facts or actually trying to understand the law. They do not care about the woman who was killed

I think I’ve made one reply to a thread but then decided exactly as you did. Don’t go over there and argue with them. They’re in a Bama hatred frenzy and have bloodlust for bringing down anything associated with Alabama athletics. Resist the urge. Tuscaloosa and others need to get the hell off those threads. Nothing you say right now, no matter how legally airtight it is, will sway anyone. Let it play out.

Hell hath no fury like an adolescent, in years or mentality, with an inferiority complex and an opportunity to play the moral high ground against someone or thing they despise. AKA. The ranter.
