I’m afraid Saban won’t give Tua much of a chance and stick with the “proven” starter. Hurts looked like the same QB yesterday like he did one ago. I don’t think he can get much better if any.

Stidham killed us with the short stuff. I can't quite understand why we couldn't at least attempt to do the same. We never do.

Those plays where Stidham would just take the snap and immediately roll out of the pocket and hit a short/intermediate route are literally exactly what we needed to do.... ugh.

I really hope some of you are trolling about replacing Saban. I couldn’t even joke about that unless I was from another fan base.

I’ve seen this before. I watched Coach Bryant’s decline and fall as a teenager. We are at about 1980 or 81 on the Bryant timeline. Maybe Saban has a second wind in him. He’s in better physical shape than Coach Bryant was. That’s all I’ll say about that.

Boz, bruh, frick that about Hurts. I could give a shite less about winning some meaningless bowl game. And we’re kidding ourselves if we think this team is winning a natty. OU and Clemson would bitch slap us. We’ve already shown we aren’t man enough to beat Auburn. Jalen.has had 2 seasons to grow into the job. He can’t do it. Give Tua the Bowl practice and spring to clean up his game and let’s roll with him. We’re going nowhere with Jalen at all he helm.

I agree with all of this. Some of our best runs are the wide runs. But I think it tires an OL out the more they have to do it, and I think it hinders your ability to run downhill because the OL never got into a rhythm of blowing off the ball and hitting someone. JMO

Valid point to some degree, but not really too much of an issue.

Our offensive identity, gameplan and play calling need to play more to our stengths, instead of subjecting us to our OL's & QB's weaknesses. Use perimeter, stretch and misdirection runs, screens, swing passes, quick short & intermediate throws, rollout rpos, slight delay release of RB to vacated area for easy throws & yac, etc. That stuff has worked well -- it keeps us ahead in the chains, sustains drives AND helps open up the inside running game too.

I'm actually starting to toe these waters as well. I think that Jalen is still a good QB, and he played his worst game in a Bama uniform yesterday, but I agree that Tua will have a real shot next season. No knock on Jalen, its more so that Tua seems like he could be a Baker Mayfield type player. You win Huddie, and Data and all of you other sonsofbitches

What the hell just happened! This shite is seismic!

Saban looked old.

Saban has definetely started to look old the past two seasons, but he's obviously got a while left. Dude still plays pick up basketball several times a week.

He couldn't hear the halftime questions because there were band people screaming just a few yards away from him.

In terms of us being a paper tiger, our team is extremely good. We played an off game against another extremely good team and didn't even lose by 14. It's not like we're not elite.

We do need to *rebuild*, probably more so than we have in Saban's tenure, but I think thats okay. Our culture has been needing it for a while. Next season will have no expectations, which will be really fun and a nice change of pace, as long as it's temporary.

I made this point last night. He’s on the backside of 60. He may have one or two more good years left. That’s just the cold hard facts rather you want to believe that or not.

yes, we are exactly at that point. the question now is, do we ENCOURAGE saban to retire, like fsu did to bowden, or do we let him bleed the program out like les miles.........that is where we are.....
