Listening to Pete. He is gonna be back. If Pruitt comes to Bama it would be to fill Charles Kelly role which I’m fine with as well. Who wouldn’t want Pruit and Goulding recruiting for you.

O.M.G. Yes, please!

Getting Pruitt back as DC and ILB coach would, at long last, turn Alabama back into BAMA again.

Golding is a fricking idiot. Sounds like a drunk and just a continuum of word salad.

Was Bruce Pearl under a show-cause order when Auburn hired him, or had it expired? I was thinking he had one in place at one time, but I may be wrong about that.

When Auburn hired him 2014 he had a few months left on his show cause. The penalties left standing were then applied to Auburn. The biggest and maybe only one left (can’t remember) was that he could not recruit until it expired that fall.

Auburn decided it was worth it to write off a summer of only assistants doing their recruiting. No doubt it hurt them that first season but history has shown they made a good call.

Saban has always honored contracts. Pete has another year on his. He will be on staff in some position unless he finds another job.

Pete can stay DC in name only. Just let Pruitt call the plays.

Pruitt has always struck me as a bit of an idiot savant. Absolutely brilliant at calling a defense but a complete moron at everything else.

I think most P5 and NFL coaches generally would be awful at trivia games because they are extremely sheltered and have too much money. They work ridiculous hours in caves and stadiums in which little outside of those places affects their ability to be successful. They don’t care who’s president and what his policies are, what gas prices are, who invaded who, what new movies are in theaters, or what it’s like to look at the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

They care about one thing.

Honestly, the more I think about this the more unlikely it seems. No way Saban is interviewing coaches right before a bowl game. The poster who said it would be for Charles Kelly’s position is the only way it makes sense. Even then tho, when did Saban meet with Pruitt for him to believe he was getting a job?

I hope I’m wrong but I’m filing this under the same rumor as the one where Golding was running his mouth in a bar a month ago.

Sole DC with Golding out or position coach/Co-DC role

It will be the latter most likely.

Saban is old school. He is not likely to outright fire a coach without first helping them move onto something else. He is invested in developing them.

Wouldn't mind Co-DCs. Uga has worked that well. Golding needs to move back to the secondary as a position coach though in any scenario.

If he stays sole DC and no big new hires, I'd hope Sal would move back on the field and take over LBs from Pete.

I know for 100% fact that Pruitt said it. Again, I do not know the full context. I even know the scenario he said it in. I don't want to get the person any heat by saying where the conversation occurred because Pruitt would know.

So this was an informal interview type situation?

Wow. So he said next DC? Did he even interview? I would think it would be hard to keep the fact he was on campus a secret. If he’s saying to former players he must be pretty certain. Surprised it hasn’t leaked out to other sources yet.

Not true. Remember Saban brought Kiffin in during playoff or bowl prep to "evaluate" Nussmeier? Now if you want to believe that Saban didn't let Kiffin know he'd be letting Nussmeier go and had an interest in Kiffin replacing Nussmeier before he let Nussmeier go that's on you.

What is with this rumor that Golding notified Saban after the Iron Bowl he didn't want to return? I just heard that today on a YouTube show.
