it seems to me that this version of the womack defense has a recurring issue. third down defensive penalties that keep allowing the opposing offense to remain on the field. thats a discipline issue. this defense isn't designed to be a shutdown defense, however, it should be able to get off the field on third down as often as possible. it is designed to limit the points given up. it is generally effective at doing that.

i'm thinking everyones perception of this defense would be considerably different if DL5 were at another position or maybe on the bench.
honestly cant remember a single player being so detrimental to the success of a defense and in effect, a team.

well, if we're going full nfl move. then all power 4 conferences plays a 8 game conference schedule. plus, all 4 ooc games must be from the other conferences, no repeat conferences. no independents. everybody is in a conference or they get left out, no exceptions. also, nobody gets to play all 4 bottom feeders from the other conferences.
do away with the committee! go back to the bcs rankings with no hidden computations. anyone wanting to participate in the rankings has to have complete transparency.

aside from all that. i'm almost certain the sec schedule makers lol'd and celebrated putting utk the week after uga. a beat-up bama going to neyland giving utk the best chance to win. they just never imagined the barn beating uga. if they had, then uga would've been playing a directional school.
