As soon as he starts putting up numbers in that offense, in that shite conference, the idiots will come out of the woodwork talking about how much he's improved and how we should have built the offense to his strengths.

I really don't care how he does though. I hope he has a great life in general. As far as football, I don't care if he never completes another pass, or if he wins 8 super bowls.

I hope he plays well enough to keep the starting job all year but they lose a few games and the Big 12 gets shut out of the playoff. I just don't like anything about Oklahoma besides their colors and can't bring myself to hope they do well because Jalen is on their team now.

Not interested in facing OU in the playoffs if we make it there. Not going to be a good look nationally when everyone in the media paints us as the bad guy for "not believing in him".

The Biggest lesson you can learn from watching Saban at Bama is that the best thing you can do in life is not give one single damn about what the national media says and instead just do what you think is right. Take that approach and you will be much happier and vastly more successful.

I hope OU loses 2 or 3 games with a shut out in there somewhere. If Hurts is the qb when they lose, I'm ok with it.

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him in the Heisman running at the end of the season. He will light that conference up. Imagine the headlines if he and Tua go head to head. The media will absolutely push it.

For me, I hope he goes undefeated in the regular season, has a nice playoff run and maybe develops enough to get a shot in the league.

I hope he plays good enough to go 14-1 and beat everyone but Alabama.

I hope he's great but I'm not sure he's the starter tbh. Everyone else might think it's a slam dunk and he has improved greatly as a passer but will it be enough? Will he be developed enough in that area to excel in a pass happy offense like OU? He's going against some really good QBs.

I hope he wins the job and has a good year but I'm skeptical to say the least.

I don't really care. I don't give a frick about the Heisman, so I don't care who wins it.

I hope he leads them to an undefeated regular season. Would love to play Oklahoma again in the playoffs. He deserves a great season and I hope he gets it.

Hmmm, sounds like you are becoming a real Bama fan!

It won't be viewed that way nationally and you know it. They are already building up the Jalen at OU situation as a get back at Bama.

Why should we give a shite? Dude gave his all for Bama and I hope he lights up. Don't really care what any people outside of our program think about our program.

I'm not sure why so many of you are interested in OU doing well. I thought this was an Alabama fan forum. The national media's 24/7 love of Jalen and OU is not something I'm looking forward to.
I do appreciate what he did here, but he chose to leave Bama for a team he knew we might play in the playoffs. I hate OU and have no desire to see them succeed.
Now, if he goes on and does well in the NFL, that's great for him.

I wouldn't care either if it didn't affect recruiting.
And I'm not interested in another OU quarterback "lighting it up". I'm not an OU fan.

the narrative has already been since he transferred and will only get worse as the season goes if he remains the starter and succeeds.

But Riley is a tool IMO.

quote:

Riley said he made a conscious decision to not go back and watch much of Hurts' tape from his first two seasons at Alabama, but watched every snap from a year ago. "I saw a guy, I thought, who needed to be freed up a little bit, in my opinion," Riley said. "Our goal with him has been freeing him up and letting him play a little more open and free. I saw the makings of that last year and thought he did a lot of really good things.

That free range of running first cost him the starting position IMO.

quote:

Riley said Hurts was told from the outset that he would have to win the job at Oklahoma and that was the way Hurts wanted it, and more importantly, he has practiced that way. "He was never a guy that just walked in and expected to be handed anything," Riley said.

Total BS on Riley's part. First Hurts would not have transferred anywhere if there was a chance of him sitting on the bench. No way his dad would have allowed

Not to mention his competition is a RS freshman who in 2 games last year went 2-4 for 37yds because Riley wanted Murray to have Heisman stats and the other QB is a true freshman that did not arrive until this summer.

As long as Saban is our coach, I have zero worries about recruiting

Hurts is what he is. He’ll feast on 95% of the college football teams because the teams he plays on has 4 & 5 star players at every position, a huge advantage in overall talent. Plus, Hurts is an elite athlete.

That last 5% of the teams, when they force him to throw the ball, he will fail.

I only watched him beat one great/elite team (Clemson in Round 1 two years ago), and that was only because Clemson’s QB (Kelly Bryant) was even more 1-dimensional than Hurts was.

I don't give a shite how OU does. I very much give a shite how Jalen does. I'll root for that kid for the rest of his life.

Can't wait to watch him play for the Sooners. I hope he has his best season. I loved watching him play for Bama. He was frustrating at times but he stuck with us when others wouldn't have. He's a very likable guy and a winner.

That being said, I hope we knock his dick in the dirt if we meet the Sooners in the playoffs.
