If he comes out and beats us, I'll still be happy for him.
The parade of QBs after losing jobs is laughable. Jalen deserves everything he gets in this life and I'll actively root for his success.

Just did a read through... for so many on here that claim to love college football for its "purity" compared to the NFL (see the 'are we having a hard time selling tickets' thread), y'all sure don't act that way in regards to one of the finest men, not football players, MEN, to grace Tuscaloosa.
That man is a class act, a great talent, did a ton for the community while he was in Tuscaloosa, and won us a lot of football games. This guy gave us the lead in a national championship with under 2 minutes to play his freshman year.
He's a great person and an ALABAMA graduate, which is more than a lot more than a lot of the mouth breathers in here can say.
Sheesh, our fan base sucks.

and like nine 3 and out series. 13 for 31. Rolled out of bounds or chunked the ball to the sideline way too many times.
If you like the guy fine, but that particular game isn't a good example to support how well he played for Alabama. There are better examples. The SEC title game last year for one.

Like he did against UGA last year?

I'll take Jalen's conservative game against Clemson over Tua's performance any day of the week. This, coming from someone who hates the "run the damn ball" crowd as much as the "God Thing," Auburn mafia.

So after all this time you're making it case of Jalen or Tua?
We have one great example of how the 2 of them would execute in a title game when both are healthy.
In the first half of the national title game vs UGA in January 2018 Jalen was 3 of 8 for 21 yards, a qb rating of 19.9, and 0 points.
In the 2nd half a healthy Tua was 14/24, 166 yards, 70.7 rating, and engineered 26 pts for the victory, and an Alabama national title.
Tagovailoa set an all time ncaa record last year for passing efficiency, though he was playing with a nagging injury (that we were told would only fully heal with some time off) since the Arkansas game.
Given a choice I wouldn't trade back. Not any day of the week.
I'd also note that nobody forced Jalen to leave. He could have stayed and competed for the position, same as Tagovailoa did last year.

I think some have turned the thread into a competition or an either/or situation and it was not intended to be that way. I personally think Tua is a better overall QB but that doesn’t mean I can’t pull for Jalen and respect him as a QB and what he did for Bama

simple as that. Nobody had even mentioned Tua in this thread. It wasn't about Tua.

I hate even getting into this again but Hurts had a far better defense. That 2016 defense forced 2 turnovers in Clemson territory and our offense came away with 3 points and -9 yds. Hurts also was gifted an easy TD to Howard (because Clemson completely forgot to cover him again) and had help in the run game until Bo got hurt.
I agree with everything else you said about Hurts but I'm tired of people acting like Hurts was good enough to win while the defense blew it. Our defense played lights out for 2.5 quarters while our offense didn't do shite outside of a few big plays.

I'm not sure why so many of you are interested in OU doing well.
What reason should I have to hate Oklahoma?
When we played them in 2002 at their stadium and they were #1 or #2 their band played the Alabama fight song and other things that the Alabama band would normally play in a game because it was too far away from the actual band to travel. That was a pure class act and I've always thought it was awesome. We played them tough even though it was a dark period in Alabama history and they were always respectful. Couldn't ask for more in an opponent.
Then the following year after Franchione bailed on us, they went out and did this:
They won the 2013 game, is that what's got you so upset? A game that didn't even matter?
You just sound like a bitter a-hole. Cry more.

I wish nothing but the best for him.
If it means OU winning 3 straight Heisman trophies at QB, I'd be okay with it... so long as it didnt mean they beat Bama at any point
Great young man. Hope he gets a shot at the next level

better hope he doesn't play better than Tua. He goes to OU and lights it up, and Saban and the staff look like they don't know what they're doing.
OU would get their shite pushed with or without Jalen.
And two different types of scheme/teams does not make one coach look better or worse than the other.

I have no issue with OU or Hurts. I will never wish ill towards another player because they play for another team or even left UA for whatever reason.
No one truly knows why he he stayed. Some like to believe he did it as a true team player but could have easily did it for selfish reasons. Lets be honest here if he would have transferred out before graduating in December he would have sat out for a year meaning not even participating in spring ball. By staying at UA he got to train and get some game time. As well as play for a NC with the possibility of getting a ring. Not to mention finish his degree. Come January he left and starts participating in the spring.
He seems pretty smart and made the best decision for himself not UA or any fan on this site no matter what anyone believes. For that I give him credit for he followed the best path for him to find success. Not like many other players that simply give up. He took advantage of all the options he had.
Again I hope he does well but following UA takes up enough of my time so I will not follow him or OU.

Whatever man. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Didn't even know we played them in 02.
Just not interested in them doing well and having to play them in the playoffs and listen to all the Jalen playing against Bama stuff. I like Jalen. Love Bama. Would rather the story be how good Bama is instead of all Jalen stuff.

Except, he burned his red shirt last fall when he could have graduated and transferred with 2 years to play. I guarantee you that, in spite of what some think about Saban, that conversation took place with Jalen before removing a red shirt year possibility

Get over it is all I know to tell you. There are other teams in college football and they are going to have success and get talked about regardless. If it isn't Oklahoma, it's going to be Texas or some other team in their place.
So why not hope it's about a guy named Jalen? You hope a guy does bad just because you don't want to hear it? And you're upset because he went to a good team? frick that, sounds like some petty BS.
Personally, I get tired of hearing about Alabama all the time and have for years. I rarely even listen to Saban interviews because I already know what he is going to say. And I never watch all those little shows because it's the same script year after year, just changing out the names like mad libs.

This is wrong. He burned a year of eligibility with us last year. He could have taken a RS and played at a school like Oklahoma for 2 years instead of just 1.

Yeah, real information gets posted on message boards.
Fluff stories are what you get in the major media.
