He came off the bench so maybe a case of performing better with less pressure. He had a good enough arm even as a freshman. He was just so inconsistent that I think he lacked confidence that he could complete the pass, but had more confidence that he could move the ball by running.

I'm sure he'll do ok in the no defense Big 12 or whatever number conference.

Maybe you guys didn't notice how much Jalen improved in the passing game last year. He beat Georgia with his arm for the most part.

Again we will see and can discuss at the end of the season

I agree with both of yall - I think that he seemingly has improved as a passer against good defenses. But will he be consistent? Not sure how tested he will be during the regular season.

I think that more Okie fans than not are excited about him.

It is a wait and see right now. I think he will be good though.

I agree and hope he does well. The first game against Houston may set the tone for him though. Houston plays pretty good D. But if Rattler starts seeing the field even for mop up duty and lights it up the Texas game in Oct he will be under pressure. But if he has no snags and against Texas pulls off a big victory the rest of season he should be able to relax knowing the job is secure.

He should do well in that conference. What was Tua against Oklahoma? 24 out of 27 completions--89%, about 314 yards passing, 4 TDs. And supposedly Oklahoma was much improved on defense in the latter part of the year and they are the king of that league. That conference doesnt play defense.

I hope Jalen and OU have a nice year, go 10-3 and enjoy a good NYD bowl in Dallas or somewhere. I don't want to have to face him in the CFP, not because I fear OU, but because I don't want to tarnish the young man's legacy in Tuscaloosa.

I think this could be the case. He took care of the ball a little too much at times(weird to say that) and trusted his legs more than his arm.

Did you actually read this?

He is not going to admit this, of course.

AKA he never said it or anything close to it. It's a clickbait headline and terrible reporting.

Yes. I read it. It's the opinion of his former OC. I just linked it because it went with the topic of the thread. Do what you want with it.
