As you can probably tell by the name I chose, it's DT. It was rough

I do feel we could do more on the international side of recruiting.

California transfer Andrej Stojakovic, the son of former NBA star Peja Stojakovic and one of the best available players in the portal, has committed to Illinois, he told ESPN on Monday.

Stojakovic chose the Fighting Illini over North Carolina and Stanford, where he started his college career.

(Sorry if already mentioned)

You are correct. It's why I hoping Lee could have been an option. I don't think we'll see Philon back but I hope I'm wrong.

I think we can still be good but to progress beyond where we've been, we need Philon or similar and another frontcourt guy. IMO

Why are some so high on getting Rylan back. Nearly every metric number went down this season from last, minutes, shooting, etc.

What are people expecting him to do to that he hasn't shown in 3 seasons. He did average 11 pts/game two years ago but 5 the year before and 6 the year after. The extra length on the perimeter can help but we have that already.

Depending on Wrightsell's health and the other guys we currently have, does he even start.

I know we're trying but we need a lead guard and more in the frontcourt.

Well, smartass, some are saying that's exactly what he might do.

And apparently you're a real winner. Stupid arse comment.

If he runs the 1, that's gonna be a problem and hurt our tempo. We'll get into the offense too late and he's not a beat the guy off the dribble player.

That would be a big mistake IMO

Like I said before, it would have been nice to know this in time to get in on Xaivian or another top lead guard.

Oats needs to pull something special I'm not seeing

OL (16):
Casey Poe
Jaeden Roberts
Geno VanDeMark
Parker Brailsford
Kadyn Proctor
Olaus Alinen
Wilkin Formby
Roq Montgomery
William Sanders
Joseph Ionata
Mal Waldrep
Jackson Lloyd
Michael Carroll
Micah Debose
Kam Dewberry
Arkel Anugwom

Out of all these, can we please find two tackles that can actually move this season. If Proctor's arse won't slim down, get someone in that can handle a speed rush.

Lee narrowed his choices down to Florida, Duke, and St. John's.

May have missed our chance with Lee due to Philon not already declaring. Lee will go somewhere else then Philon will announce he's leaving and we may be stuck without good options. Not good.

staff isn't going after Murphy, Reid to portal, Rylan back soon, and Philon leaning NBA/portal.

I wondered about Murphy due to fit and lack of spacing but I would like to have him and feel he'd bring a toughness we need. I'm not as high on Reid as others but definitely don't want to lose him due to his potential. Don't like bringing Rylan back. Numbers significantly decreased this season and he's kind of stiff and shooting is questionable. Would rather spend the money on Xaivian. Philon leaving is rough but understandable and another reason to pull Xaivian or another lead guard.

Hopefully we can land Murphy and Philon come back and that’ll be a good roster

Murphy
Philon
Reid

And I'd like to see what Xaivian could do in our offense

I like the aggressiveness and toughness he would bring but he's not an outside threat at all

I understand what you're saying about the term "point guard" on a roster, but who would be the better initiator of our offense from our current group without Philon? If you just take this season with Philon, Aden and Mark, there was a significant difference in getting the offense going. Those three could all bring the ball up and beat their man off the dribble to some extent. Having Mark bring it down and start the possession wasn't as effective because he over dribbled and Aden got hesitant.

If Philon leaves and we can't pull another point guard, who do yall think we run with at PG?

Very glad for Juwan. Seems like a good guy and gives it all he has.

Under a microscope, Holloway seems to be the most concerning piece. If he is a starter we are instantly small, have a defensive weak spot to cover up and lose physicality. I love that the guy can inject instant offense, has a great shot 3 pt shot and a nice floater. But I would still much prefer he be coming off the bench his whole career. Honestly don't even know if Wrightsell is starter quality at the 2 coming off injury. It seems everyone else finds a hybrid wing/2 guard that comes in at 6'4 or better, shoots well and defends. Auburn got Miles Kelly, UT got Chaz Lanier, Florida got Will Richard, Aberdeen and Duke has Kneuppel. Obviously all those teams are talented at most positions, but our small below the rim guards seem pretty glaring in being the one piece that hurts us the most against elite comp.

Well said.
Out of curiousity, did we go after any of the guys on that list? Any of those would have made a big difference for us.
